As gas prices go up, so do worries about inflation.  The government’s report for April shows whole sale prices jump 0.9 percent, the biggest increase in seven months.  It’s due mainly to higher energy cost.  Fred Dixon, president of Economic Insight says the Federal Reserve is watching these numbers when it comes to interest rates.   “Eventually, if this situation continues and this gas continues to widen, it’s really gonna become a difficult situation for the Federal Reserve and New fed share.”   Another sign of slowing housing market.  The Commerce Department reports a 7.4 percent drop in housing stocks last month.  Dave Ciders, chief economist with the Nation association of Home Builders says it’s bound to happen.  “I think it’s part of it, it’s just kind of payback for very strong activity early in the year when we had kind of record warm temperature in a lot of countries.  We knew we gonna, you know, pay some of that back.  It’s the third straight monthly decline for housing stocks.  

It’s raining again in parts of New England.  CNN’s Gary Bob Gardner report live from Manchester, New Hampshire the relentless rain is making life miserable.  “For it’s better and moderate here in New Hampshire, officials are hopeful that no additional flood will occur and that will mean that it’s just take longer for the water to recede.  Many people have been gathering at spots over and in along with many mad rivers to watch the water washed by.  “Down the river, two animals are totally under the water.  How do you see the truth … , and next I … sound”  Governor John Lynch’s request for federal aid first requires and an assessment of the damage by FIMA. President Bush wants six thousand national guard troops put on the US borders with Mexico to slow down the influx of illegal immigrants.  Critics say the additional troops may result in violence along the border.
