Why don’t you love and take pride in National Anthem of Japan?
昨夜ようやくタイワイン：モンスーンバレーを飲んだ奥井です。 昨夜はワールドカップ決勝があったり、死刑を執行しなかったり法律を守らなかったり仕事を全然してなかった千葉法相が神奈川県民の私刑にあったりで、まぁ美味しくいただけました(飲み切れなくてまだ残ってるけれど)。 明日英語の講義でTaped Journalを３Topic提出しなければならないので、先週とりあえず『死刑問題』『捕鯨問題』『海外生活での対応力・柔軟性の必要性について』『もしもう一言語勉強する時間を得られるのならば』『国歌』の５つのTopicで作文してみたのだけれど、言語についての話がなんだか面白味がなかったのでボツに。ちなみに時間があるのであれば中国語勉強したいです。今後の仕事とかに使えるかなぁと思うので。 で、残る４つから何をボツにするかと考えて、とりあえず今回捕鯨問題はいっかぁと。先生がアメリカ人なので死刑問題と捕鯨問題を持ってくるとどちらも意見が正反対＆アメリカ人は自分達がNo.１、自分たちが世界の常識だと思っているので後々面倒かなと思ったので、とりあえず今回一つ削りました。 海外生活については興味深くかけたかなぁ、そして唯一重くない話題だなぁと思ったのでBuffer的に取り上げてみました。 とりあえず今回録音したJournalの一つ、『何故日本国国歌を愛さず、誇りを持たないのか？』を挙げておきたいと思います。 Why don’t you love and take pride in National Anthem of Japan? Sometimes, I really envy other country people, especially Thai people. Because they love and thank their country and His Majesty from the bottom of their heart. In general, I think that having sense of patriotism will be very natural for the ordinary citizen. But strange to say, some Japanese people are NOT like this. They feel ashamed that having sense of patriotism. And what is worse, they dislike the national anthem of Japan and they have never stood up and sung it. Because they misunderstand that our national anthem praises only His Majesty of Japan and past militarism of Japan. But it’s wrong interpretation!! At first, I would like to sing the national anthem of Japan. Kimi ga Yo wa Chi-yo ni Ya-chi-yo ni, Sazare-ishi no Iwao to nari te Koke no musu made If this lyrics are translated nonliterally, A thousand years of happy life be thine. Live on, my Lord, till what are pebbles now, By age united, to great rocks shall grow, Whose venerable sides the moss doth line. Japan is not militarism but democracy. However, Japan is not only democracy but also system of the emperor as a symbol. The first chapter; article 1 of the Constitution is written like this “The Emperor shall be the symbol of the State and of the unity of the people, deriving his position from the will of the people with whom resides sovereign power.” So we have to interpret that the national anthem of Japan doesn’t praise only His Majesty of Japan but everlasting national prosperity and peace. And the national anthem of Japan is NOT war song. Of course, all countries use own national anthem and own national flag during war. Because national anthem and flag can concentrate all citizen energies and make them to motivate highly. So all anthems in the world can be linked with the war. But singing anthem is not linked with the war and militarism. By the way, a number of times Japan has broken out wars are quite few times in the world. For example, England, France, Germany and Japan broke out war, 78 times, 71 times, 23 times, and 9 times respectively from 1480 to 1941. As mentioned like this, we can know that Japan is very peaceful country and there are no useless battles so much. Thus, I think that national anthem of Japan doesn’t praise the war and militarism. On the contrary, national anthem of Japan is very peaceful. Some other national anthems, for example, Chinese, American, and French lyrics of the national anthem have militant features. They use these words, blood, war, battle, bullet, enemy, and so on. But they know their national anthems are not linked with praise of the war and militarism. And also, they pride in own countries and national anthems. Thus, I would like all Japanese people to sing own national anthem and take in it with confidence. 何故日本人は国歌を愛さず、誇りを持たないのか？ 時折、私は他国の人々を羨ましく思う。特にタイ人。なぜなら彼らは心から自らの国と王様を愛し、感謝しているから。 普通、愛国心を持つということはその国に住む一般人にとっては当たり前のことで、ごく自然なことであろう。しかしながらおかしなことに、日本人の一部はそうではない。彼らは愛国心を持つということを恥じ、それどころか彼らは自らの国歌を嫌い、起立し斉唱したことなど一度もない。何故なら彼らは日本国歌は天皇賞讃や過去の軍国主義を称えているだけのものだと勘違いしているから。しかしそれは間違った解釈である。 まず、私は日本国歌を歌いたい。 君が世は 千代に八千代に さざれ石の巌と成りて こけのむすまで この歌詞を意訳すると 汝の治世が幸せな数千年であるように われらが主よ、治め続けたまえ、今は小石であるものが 時代を経て、集まりて大いなる岩となり 神さびたその側面に苔が生える日まで となる。 日本は軍国主義でなく民主主義だ。しかしながら、日本は民主主義だけでなく象徴天皇制でもある。 憲法第一章、第一条にてこのように記されている『天皇は、日本国の象徴であり日本国民統合の象徴であつて、この地位は、主権の存ずる日本国民の総意に基づく』と。 なので、我々は日本国歌を天皇賛美だけでなく、我が国の末永い繁栄と平和を祈念したものと解するべきである。 そして日本国歌は軍歌ではない。 もちろん、全ての国家は戦時中各々の国歌と国旗を使う。何故ならば戦争というものは国の総力を尽くしてするもので、国民の総力を結集し、国民を奮い立たせるために国歌は利用される。なので、全ての国歌は戦争と繋がってはいるが、国歌を歌うことが戦争や軍国主義につながるわけではない。 ちなみに、日本が戦争を起こした回数は世界的にもとても少ない。例えば1480年から1941年までの間、イギリス、フランス、ドイツ、日本ではそれぞれ78回、71回、23回、９回戦争が起こった。このように我々は日本がとても平和な国で、無益な争いがほとんどないことを知ることが出来る。 よって、日本国歌は戦争や軍国主義を賛美しているわけではないと思う。 それどころか、日本国歌はとても平和的だ。いくつかの国々の国歌、例えば中国やアメリカ、フランスなどの国歌の歌詞は戦闘的な特徴を持つ。例えば血だとか戦いだとか弾丸だとか、敵だとか。しかし彼らは自国の国歌が戦争や軍国主義を賛美することにつながるわけではないということを知っており、そして彼らはまた自国と自国の国歌に誇りを持っている。 私は全ての日本国民に自信を持って国歌を歌ってもらいたいし、誇りを持ってもらいたい。 |

自分の国に誇りを持つことが罪悪のように教育される。
子供の教科書を見ると非道いモノです。
抑圧されている分、W杯などのイベントで吹き出てくるようです。

こんばんは。
戦後、本当に自虐史観というか、そぉいった教育が徹底されてきたようですね。。本当におかしな事だと思います。祖先は必死にこの国と自身の家族を守って亡くなっていかれたというのに。。
ただこぉやってスポーツを通して、自国を誇りに思ったり胸を張れるきっかけが出来る事はすごく良いことだと思いますね。これからも多くの分野で日本人が活躍する事を期待しています。もちろん自分も将来はその一人になりたいですね。

ちなみに、昔(山田耕作氏がドイツに留学していた頃)、ドイツの大学の音楽教授達が世界の主な国歌を品定めしたらしく、その結果、『君が代』が第一位になったそうですよ。日本人は自国の国歌にもっと胸を張っていいと思いますよね。
