続かないブログの更新、パス単、ダイエットと続かないものばかりで落ち込む毎日です。
20年以上前にニューヨークマラソンに参加したことがあるのですが
思いだしました。
毎日走っていたのですが、ちょうどニューヨークマラソンの3カ月前からパタッと
走らなくなってしまったのです。
プレッシャーで体が動かなくなってしまったのです。
そんなことならマラソンに申し込みなんてしなきゃ良かった。
申し込まなければ、ただ毎日走っていたかもしれないのに・・・。
落ち込んでいる時、村上龍の「ニューヨークマラソン」という文庫本を見つけ読みました。
その中にやはりプレッシャーに負けて走れなくなっている登場人物がいて
思いっきり感情移入ができました。
私だけではないんだと救われた気がしました。
(昔の記憶なので違ったかもしれませんが)
結局くる日が来て走ってきたのです。
42.195キロ。
良い経験でした。
身体の中に42.195キロという距離が刻まれました。
今でも、ニュースなどで距離が出るとこの距離を基準に考えます。
都心からの距離などで被災しても歩いて帰ってこれるとか来れないとかいうのは重要ですものね。
私はあのスピードでくれば何時間くらいで自宅に戻れるかは見当がつきます。
英語やっていて良かったと思ったのは
走っている間の応援が全てわかった事
他の日本人ランナーの人はその時ほど英語を勉強しておけばよかったと思ったことはないと言っていました。
応援されているというのはわかるけれど、なんて言われているわからないのは
とても残念だったと言っていました。
英検近づいてきました。
昨日ギリギリで申し込みました。

申し込まなければ、ただ毎日走っていたかもしれないのに・・・。

応援されているというのはわかるけれど、なんて言われているわからないのは

understanding the fact that the supporters cheered up her a lot.
