＞西武の裏金問題で早大野球部を退部処分となった清水勝仁内野手（２１＝スポーツ科学部３年）に１６日、社会人球界が救いの手を差し伸べた。日本野球連盟・鈴木義信副会長（６３）が、同選手を受け入れる態勢があることを明らかにしたもの。これを受けて茨城ゴールデンゴールズ（ＧＧ）の萩本欽一監督（６５）がさっそく入団させたい意向を示すなど、西武の不正によって大学球界を追われた清水に野球を続ける道が開けた。

　有望なアマチュア選手の将来を閉ざしてはいけない。早大が調査委員会の結果を受けて野球部退部処分を決めてから１日。傷心の清水を、社会人球界は見捨てなかった。

　「本人の将来が抹殺されてしまい、気の毒な部分もある。生きる道は社会人しかない。期間を置いてだが、受け入れ態勢を整えたい」。都内ホテルで開かれた「ドラフトに関するプロ・アマ意見交換会」に出席した鈴木副会長。プロ側へ強く希望枠の撤廃を求めた会議後、清水の受け入れ態勢があることを示し「将来ある選手ですから生きる道をつくってあげたい」と続けた。

　日本野球連盟の登録規程第６条で社会人野球に選手登録できる学生は「日本学生野球協会所属団体に登録した学生を除く大学に在籍する者」としている。今回の退部処分で日本学生野球協会から登録が外れる清水は同第１８条３により競技者登録はできず、早くても０８年１月１日以降からしかプレーできないが、チームには入れる。問題は日本学生野球協会審査室会議による処分。仮に個人に対する処分の中で最も重い「除名処分」になると今後、大学生相手の試合には出場できなくなる。

　それでも清水にとっては野球を続ける道が大きく開いたと言える。２年後には、再びプロを目指すことも可能となる。

　８８年ソウル五輪の日本代表監督、鈴木副会長の“門戸開放”に「それは素晴らしいこと」と呼応したのが茨城ＧＧ・萩本監督だった。「彼の才能に罪はない。野球部は退部という残念なことになったが、そういうときこそゴールデンゴールズでしょ。あすにでも本人なり、大学の（応武）監督なりに“会いたい”と連絡を入れたい」。さっそく勧誘へ動く考えを明かし「彼がまたプロを目指すか分からないが、大学を卒業するまで練習だけでもゴールデンゴールズで一緒にやろうと言いたい」と話した。

　大学野球部を途中退部し、社会人を経てプロ入りを果たした選手は過去に中日・落合監督、巨人・野間口らがいる。

　プロを夢見て、プロの不正によって挫折した清水。壊れかけた夢へ向かい、再びグラウンドに立つことができるかもしれない。
