昨日は用事があってロンドンへ。
いまだに２階建てバスの２階が好きでつい上がってしまうなおのぼりさんな私。
I went to Londdon yesterday.
I usually climb up to the upstairs whne I get on a double-decker.
Am I what we call a coutry cousin?
途中で前を通った中華街。
３日がチャイニーズニューイヤーだったので、今月いっぱいはこの派手な飾りをつけておくのですかね？
まだお昼なので静かですが、夜になるとにぎやかになりますよ〜。
週末はお昼からかなりにぎわっています。
This is a China town.
The decoration of the town still remains because of the Chinese new year has been 3rd of February.
It was almost deserted as a result of noon.
In the evenings and on weekends it is usually full of peoole, a sort of packed!

ちょっと前の話なのですが、素敵なパブのご紹介です。
場所は、年末年始を過ごしたコテージの近く。
コテージから歩いて２０分くらいの絶好の散歩コースらしいのですが、
寒いし、霧は深いし、道はぬかるんでいるし…で、車で行きました。
I'd like to introduce a wonderful pub today.
It is near the cottage where I've stayed and takes about 20min from there on foot.
I've never been there on foot because it was realluy chillym foggy and I had to walk on a muddy road!

バーカウンターはこんなに小さいけど…
Though, the bar conter is tiny....
天井が低くて落ち着く店内。
is cosy with low ceiling.

パブの奥の方には、結構広いレストランスペースがあります。
この日は団体さんの予約が入っているとかで、テーブルセッティングがされていました。
イギリスもクリスマスのデコレーションを６日まで飾っておきますから
大晦日のこの日はまだ飾られたままでした。

All tables were ready for a group then.
Christmas decorations were still on each tables and rooms,
because they are kept until 6th of January in England.
メニューもありますが、黒板に書かれたこの日のお勧めを頼むのもこのパブの醍醐味。
こちらのパブは何を頼んでも美味しかったです〜。
There is a regular manu though, you can chose for the bord, Today's Special!
Almost all meals don't fall short of your expectations.
で、こちらのパブの一番のお勧めポイントは、
The best thing that I recommend in this pub is...
この鉄製の暖炉です〜。
昔ながらの暖炉で、キッチンで使われていたものだとか。
お水を左側のタンクに入れておくと温められてお湯になるそうで、そこには蛇口がついています。
右側はオーブンになっています。
もうそのような使い方をしてはいないそうですが、今でも使えるらしいです。
う〜ん、使ってみた〜い。
This iron fire place.
This is very old one and people use it for stove int a kitchen.
There is a hot water tank on the left with tap and oven on the right.
They don't use it that way, but it can be still used.
I'd love to use it!
こちらがパブのオーナーの女性とその息子さんです。
このあたりも夏ごろには日本人観光客がちらほらといらっしゃるとか…。
This is the owner of the pub and her son.
They told that they see some Japanese tourists in the good season there.
一番右にいるのはこちらの常連さん。
私たちはコテージ滞在中、大晦日のお昼と、年明け２日の夕飯時に訪れたのですが
２度とも彼と遭遇しているのです。
これも何かの縁なんでしょうね〜。
美味しいお料理を頂きながら、気さくなオーナーさんや常連さんたちと飲み明かして
素敵な時間を過ごすことができました。
すっごくいいパブでした。
またぜひとも伺いますね〜。
On the rightof the photo, he is a regular custome of the pub.
We visited there twice while we stayed at the cottage.
Every time we went there, he was there!
What a coincidence!
We really had a good time with them talking, eating and drinking.
It is one of the fabulous pub that I've ever visited.
I'll go to see them again.
