Biliary atresia

At the International conference, I heard a talk on BA.  Nearly 90% of BA is caused by infection or other inflammatory events.  Only 10% of the cause is genetic.  Genetic BA is sometimes associated with other symptoms such as left-right conversion, and asplemia. It is thus essential to elucidate infectious virus such as Rota. 

Another issue to think of is that we do not have suitable research questions for treatment at this moment.  NCCHD grant may help this.
