バンコク郊外の道路 (A highway in a suburb of Bangkok)

バンコクから北へ約50キロのところから北の方角を撮影しました。

真ん中の６車線は、通過専用の車線で、だいたい100〜120kmでぶっ飛
ばします。

その外側の車線は、脇道に出入りしたり、反対車線にＵターンしたりす
るために使われる車線です。

手前にある橋は、Ｕターンブリッジで、脇道から手前の車線と反対の車
線に行きたい場合には、一旦、目的地と反対方向に直進した上でＵター
ンブリッジを使用してから反対の車線に入ります。

左の緑のボードは、バンコクに行く車はＵターンブリッジを使用、アユ
タヤに行く車はそのまま直進ということです。

Ｕターンブリッジのため、信号を設置する必要がなく、通過するだけの
車にとっては非常に便利です。ただし、反対側に車で行く場合には、時
として５kmくらい往復する必要がある場合があります。

The six lines of the center are for vehicles passing through.

The other lines of the edges are for vehicles entering or going out from
a side road or using a U-turn bridge.

The bridge in front is a U-turn bridge. When you would like to enter a
line, which is opposite to a front line of a side road, you have to enter
the front line and go to the opposite direction to your destination first
before passing a u-turn bridge.

The left green board shows that while vehicles going to Bangkok pass
the U-turn bridge, vehicles going to Ayuttaya go straight.

Because of U-turn bridges, they do not have to set up traffic lights. It
is very convenient for cars just passing through. However, if you
would like to go to the opposite side of the highway by car, you may
have to take 5 km round trip.
