英検の２次試験で、もうひとつ気づいたことがあります。
まあ、これは自分の力でどうしようも無いことなんですけど。 それは、面接官との相性？が合否に関わる可能性があると言うことです。 実力のある人ですと、どのような面接官でも合格出来るでしょう。 しかし、私のようにボーダーにかかるか？と言うレベルの人間には 非常に重要だと思いました。 具体的に２回の２次試験を比べてみます。 前回の不合格時の日本人面接官は、
ちょっと強面？と言いますか、しかめっ面と言いますか、 正直あまり感じの良い方ではありませんでした。 自己紹介をしてと言われたので、話していると、 明らかに早く終わってくれと言わんばかりの態度に見えました。 私の勘違いかも知れませんが、そのように感じました。 これが、Ｑ＆Ａに大きく影響しました。 長々話すとまずいと思い、短く簡潔に答えていたので、 時間が大きく余りました。 これがInteractionの４割と言う出来になってしまったと思います。 それに比べて今回の日本人面接官は非常にフレンドリーな感じの方でした。
私を気分良く話させるように、また良い所を一生懸命 引き出してくれている、そんな印象を受けました。 質問も答えやすい易しいものが多かったです。 ですから、Ｑ＆Ａも言いたいことを長々と話せました。 それが良い結果に結びついたように思います。 面接官に左右されない実力を付ければ良いだけの話ですが、
ギリギリのラインで戦っている受験者には重要な要素だと思います。 前回と同じ面接官だったら、私は今回受かっていたか、微妙です(-_-;) |

時事知識が豊富な方なら対策しなくても合格出来るかも知れません。 実際に多くの方が１発合格されてます。 しかし私のように、そのどちらも無い人間には本当に大変な試験です。
そんな私が、合格最低ラインですが(-_-;)、 どのような対策をしたかを書きます。 少しはどなたかの役に立てるかも知れませんので。
結論から言いますと、話せるスピーチを沢山準備することです。
私は過去問からピックアップして、 今回の試験までに約６０本のスピーチを書きました。 今考えると１次試験のエッセイは楽ですよね。
キーワードが出されているのでそれに肉付けすれば良いんですから。 しかし２次試験のスピーチは自分で全てを考えないといけません。
知識の無いお題に関してはネットで調べたりしながら、 中には数日がかりで書いたものもあります。 大変なのはここからでした。
私のキャパの少ない頭では書いて終わりと言うわけには行きません。 同じお題が出たところで全く話せません。 ですから、その６０本プラス、前回試験までに準備した １５本をひたすら音読＆暗唱しました。 試験までに数十本は暗唱出来ていたと思います。 今回２つ程準備したものに近いお題がありましたので、
３０本程準備すれば、１本は近いお題があると思います。 この暗唱と言うのは非常に効果があったように思います。
スピーチそのものに使わなくても、実際にスピーチ後のＱ＆Ａで 暗唱していた文を使ったような気がします。 私のように英会話が全然ダメな人間でも、
準備次第で何とかなる、そんな試験だと思います。 いや、今回たまたま何とかなっただけなんですけどね(-_-;) |

今回はスピーチ６割、Ｑ＆Ａ７割、文法語彙６割、発音７割、の出来でした。 スピーチは沢山準備して備えていたので６割取れて良かったです。
しかし、あのスピーチで６割ももらえるとなると、 採点基準はやはり甘いのかなと思います。 導入、ポイント２つ、結論のシンプル構成で、 導入と結論は、問題文そのままでしたからね。 例えば、導入は、I think 問題文 for the following reasons. 結論は、In conclusion, 問題文。 みたいに飾りの英文は一切付け足して無かったんですよね。 ポイント部分も、しどろもどろでしたし。 前回の沈黙スピーチの反省から、 とにかく頑張って話したのが評価されたようです。 Ｑ＆Ａは、結構いい感じに盛り上がったと思うので、
７割の出来は素直に嬉しいです。 前回は時間を持て余していましたが、 今回は途中で時間切れになるくらい良い感じだったと、 自分では思ってます(-_-;) これは、また後ほど記事にしますが、優しい面接官のおかげです。 文法語彙は、私のレベルはこんなものだと思いますが、
採点基準は結構厳しい印象です。 発音は今回７割も取れてました♪前回は６割。
変わるものでも無いと思いますが、 私の名古屋弁イングリッシュでも取れるものですね(-_-;) やはり全体を見ると、スピーチ次第ですね。
ここで失敗すると挽回は難しいと思います。 シンプルでも良いのでいかに理路整然としているかですね。 私ごときが偉そうに言える立場では無いですが(-_-;) |
