皆様こんばんは
いつもご訪問ありがとう御座います

さて今流れている曲はバブル真っ只中の86年に大ヒットしたユーロビーと曲
Michael Fortunati の「Give Me Up」です

ご存知の方も多いかも知れません。
二番目に日本でのライブ映像も貼り付けました

日本語訳では「Give Me Up」を俺を自由にしておくれ・・・
叫んでいるではありませんか。

そうか、そういう心の叫びというか心境を歌っていたのを今更知り（笑）
この曲でも踊ってしまうのは意味が分かっていなかったからか・・・と。

いつも下着姿の女性は待っているって事でしょうか？
新たな疑問が湧いてきました。

「Give Me Up」（ギヴ ミー アップ）は、1986年に発売されたマイケル・フォーチュナティ（Michael Fortunati）のデビューシングルで、1980年代ユーロビートの代表的な曲として知られる。
バナナラマの『アイ・ハード・ア・ルーマー』（全米4位）はこの曲に触発されて製作されたといわれている。

日本での売れ行き
日本ではオリコン洋楽シングルチャートで1987年3月16日付から4週連続1位を獲得した[1]。
1987年2月にBaBeがデビューシングルでカバーしたのを初め、様々なアーティストにカバーされている。

毎週末には好きな音楽を勝手気ままにご紹介してます

今流れているこの曲はFinis HendersonのSkip To My Lou という曲です
もう既に2，3回ブログで取り上げているかも知れません。

曲もですが、使われている都内の夜景映像の中にどこか昔の自分がいるのでは？
と空想（妄想か）させてくれるのがなんとも堪りません。

夜の街・繁華街が大好きだったので（爆）
ついつい映像を見入って仕舞います

それにしても・・・

首から下げたピンクのリボンは何の為なんでしょうね（笑）
誰かに、引っ張られているとか（爆）

ともあれ。
僕には懐かし過ぎる名曲です。

毎週末は好きなジャンルの曲を勝手気ままにご紹介しています

今回ももしかしたら取り上げているかも知れませんが・・・
Shannon - Let The Music Playです

なんというか、ベタな感じではありますが（笑）

84年当時、こんな映像があるとは微塵も思っていなくて、こんな時代が
来ると知ったらさぞ驚く事だと思います。

最近のネット環境の変化にはとてもついていけませんが、これからの10年
20年先は一体どんな環境変化が起きるのか？想像すら出来ません。

この映像を見ながらついそんな事を考えていました

"Let The Music Play" is a song by American singer Shannon. The song was the first of Shannon's four #1s on the US Dance chart, reaching the top spot in October 1983.[2] The song also became a huge crossover hit, peaking at #2 on the soul chart (behind "If Only You Knew" by Patti LaBelle") and #8 on the US Singles Chart in February 1984.[3] Some mark this as the beginning of the dance-pop era. "Let the Music Play" was Shannon's only US Top 40 hit. It was ranked 43rd on the 2009 VH1 Special 100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the 1980s.[4] This song appears in video games Dance Central 3 and Scarface: The World Is Yours.

Background
The original version of the record was produced by Mark Liggett and Chris Barbosa. By the early 1980s, the backlash against disco had driven dance music off mainstream radio stations in the US. The rhythmic ingenuity of "Let the Music Play" was largely due to Chris Barbosa, who wrote and arranged the original demo track. Rob Kilgore played all the instruments on this seminal track. It featured a series of keyboard chords and drum patterns produced by gating a Roland TR-808 drum machine. Specifically, a reverb was placed across the kick and snare and hard gated to change the sounds. Further, it was one of the first tracks to sync together a TR-808 and a Roland TB-303 bassline, notorious in later years for the instrument responsible for creating acid house. The TB-303 plays the bassline for the entire song; however, in this case, the filter is not adjusted, which was typical for acid house music. This technical achievement made the production even more groundbreaking, and it also resulted in a unique sound, called "The Shannon Sound," which in time came to be known as freestyle. The Prophet-5 is used for the hookline and sound effects. The vocal on the chorus is sung by session guitarist/vocalist, Jimi Tunnell, who was uncredited. Shannon sings the answering line but it is Tunnell who sings the "Let the music play" hook.

Composition
"Let the Music Play" is a freestyle dance song with synthesizer and drum machine-produced rim shot percussion sounds and kick-drum/snare-drum interaction. Critic and journalist Peter Shapiro described the song as a "cross between Gary Numan and Tito Puente."[5] The song has a tempo of 116 beats per minute.[6]

Music video
The music video of the song was directed by British music video director Nigel Dick and premiered in November 1983. The video shows Shannon in a dressing room applying make-up as if she is getting ready for a performance. She then makes her way to the stage of an empty theater where she proceeds to dance and sing the song. Interspersed throughout these scenes are shots of male and female dancers fashioned in dress shirts and bow ties warming up. The dancers join Shannon by the second chorus of the song, and, near the end, one of the dancers proceeds to take her in his arms and dance with her. The video ends with the dancers doing a choreographed routine while Shannon continues singing.[7][8]

Impact and legacy
Slant Magazine ranked the song #54 in its 100 Greatest Dance Songs-list in 2006, adding:
"Alongside Madonna's “Holiday,” D.C.-born Jazz vocalist Brenda Shannon Greene's “Let the Music Play” helped redefine dance music in the anti-disco early-'80s, setting the stage for the troubled genre for the next decade. Producers Mark Liggett and Chris Barbosa, considered one of the founding fathers of Latin freestyle, merged the then-hip electro-funk sound with Latin rhythms, unwittingly creating the world's first freestyle song."[9]

いつもご訪問ありがとう御座います

さて週末金曜、土曜は好きな音楽ジャンルを記憶を呼び起こしながら
更新するつもりでいますが、なかなかサボってまして・・・（笑）

毎回思い出しながらの曖昧さもあって、同じ動画をアップしていたりも
してますが、このSHANNON のGive me tonightはどうだったかな？

何れにしても、SHANNONの曲も何度かアップしている筈です
84年の曲で、当時ウオークマンで聞いてました（笑）

全編に渡って彼女の押さえ気味な声量がなんとも魅力的な1曲です
12インチのロングバージョンとOfficialバージョンの2つを貼り付けます

"Give Me Tonight"
"Give Me Tonight" is a 1984 single by Shannon, an American R&B and dance artist. Released as the follow-up to her smash debut "Let the Music Play," "Give Me Tonight" was not as successful as its predecessor on the Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at #46. It did, however, receive the same enthusiastic response in the dance clubs as her previous single, hitting the top spot on the Hot Dance Club Play chart in March 1984 for two weeks.[1] It also was a significant Urban hit, reaching #6 on the American R&B chart. The song also peaked at #24 on the UK singles chart.
In 2000 Hex Hector remixed the song and the mixes were called the "Give Me Tonight (2000 A.D. Mixes)".

最近すっかりご無沙汰気味ですが、さて今夜は何にしようか
物色していたらリストにマドンナの曲がありました。

この曲も80年代前半の大ヒットした曲なのでご存知の方も
多いと思います。

１番最初に登場する背中のジャケットデザインがとても気になって
何度かアップした事があります。

オリジナル曲をサンプリングした Don't Wanna Lose This Grooveと
いう曲もなかなか良かったです。





"Into the Groove" is a song by American singer Madonna from the 1985 film Desperately Seeking Susan. It was featured on the re-issue of her second studio album, Like a Virgin (1984), outside North America. Sire Records released it on July 23, 1985, as the album's third single. Madonna's inspiration behind the song was the dance floor, and she wrote it while watching a handsome Puerto Rican man, across her balcony. Initially written for her friend Mark Kamins, Madonna later decided to use it as the soundtrack of her film Desperately Seeking Susan. "Into the Groove" consists of instrumentation from synthesizers and drum machines. Madonna's voice is double tracked in the chorus; the song also consists of musical contrasts, overdubs, and Madonna's voice in lower register during the bridge. The lyrics of the song are simple, written as an invitation to dance with the singer. However, it carries sexual innuendos and undertones in the meaning.
The song was appreciated by contemporary music critics as well as authors, who frequently called it "Madonna's first great single". The song was a commercial success, reaching the top of the charts in Australia, Belgium, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain and the United Kingdom, where it was Madonna's first number-one single. In the United States, the song was only available as the B-side of the 12-inch single of "Angel", therefore it was ineligible to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 according to the rules at the time. By the end of the 1980s, "Into the Groove" was honored by Billboard magazine as the Dance Single of the Decade.
A music video, consisting of clips from the film, was released to accompany the song. The song has been performed by Madonna in most of her concert tours, including the Sticky & Sweet Tour (2008–09), where she performed it while doing Double Dutch jump rope. "Into the Groove" has been covered by a number of artists, including Australian singer Dannii Minogue, who combined the song with her single "Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling".
