今日は久々に時間があるので、ラジオを聞きながらdictation and shadowing.
自分が現実に口にできる英語のレベルに近いので、勉強になります。

pare と peel

I am listening the NHK's English program on radio every day.

In "続基礎英語" of today, I listened 「皮むきナイフ」. At first, I thought that was "peeling knife". But "paring knife" is correct. →修正しました♪

pare 【他動】〜の皮をむく、（つめを）切る、〜を削り取る、削減する
・She pared her accoutrements to the essentials. : 携帯品を必要最低限にとどめた
paring knife 小さなナイフ、皮むきナイフ、果物ナイフ
○類peel 【名】皮【自動】むける、はがれる
peeler 【名】ピーラー、皮むき器、皮をむく人
