みなさん、こんにちは！（＊＾＾＊） Hi, everybody! 大変ご無沙汰しております！ It's been a long time! 6月の下旬から8月の初旬まで、約80,000語というウェブサイトの翻訳の仕事をしました。 From the end of June to the beginning of August, I worked on a website job with 80,000 words. 初めての大量で長期に及ぶ仕事だったため、毎日必死で働きました。（＾＾；） It was the first huge long-term job, so I worked really hard everyday. 途中、私のラップトップの３つのキーが使えなくなったりして大変でしたが、結局、新しいラップトップを購入し、 無事に締切までに仕事を終えることができました。（＾＾） On the way, the three keys of my laptop computer became unfunctional, but I bought a new laptop and was able to finish the job by the deadline. その後も、追加の仕事などで忙しく、やっと落ち着いたところです。 I was swamped with other jobs after that, but finally things are settled. それでも、この夏にはいろいろなことがありましたよ！ Even so, we had some things happend this summer! 6月3日には、ブログのお友達のオペラ歌手であるMiyukinaさんが出演した東日本大震災のための慈善 コンサートをマンハッタンの教会に見に行きました。 On June 3rd, I went to see a fundraising concert for the Higashinihon eathquake disaster at a church in Manhattan where my blog friend opera singer, Miyukina performed. 画質が悪くてごめんなさい。（＞＜） I am sorry for the poor picture quality. オペラの他にも、能やコンテンポラリーなダンスなど、いろいろなパフォーマンスを楽しむことができました。 少しでも、日本の復興のお手伝いができて良かったです。 I enjoyed not only opera but also other performances such as noh and contemporary dance. Also, I was happy to help Japan's recovery. Miyukina-san's blog is here 7月22日はマイロとマーフィーの7歳の誕生日だったのですが、私が超忙しかったので、 ケーキも何も作れず、大きな骨ガムのプレゼントだけとなってしまいました。（＾＾；） On July 22nd, it was Milo & Murphy's 7 year-old birthday. However, I was so busy that I could not make any cakes, so we just gave them big bones. これは、マイロが庭にあった紫色のベリーのような実が落ちた所にすりすりしたためにこんなになりました。（＾＾；） Milo became a purple dog because he was rolling on his back at the place where purple berries fell on the grass in the backyard. そして、7月23日には、なんと日本から遊びに来たブログのお友達にも会うことができました！（＊＾＾＊） Then, on July 23rd, I was able to meet a blog friend from Japan! 子供の頃に数年間ニューヨークに住んでいたメイさんです。 It was May who stayed in New York for few years when she was little. 英語の勉強のための語学留学中に、お店に遊びに来てくれました！！（＾＾） While she was staying here to study English, she visited us at the shop! ロッドがほとんどのお料理を用意してくれて、私が作ったのは炊き込みご飯だけです。（＾＾；） Rod cooked the most of the dishes and I only made seasoned cooked rice. 初めてお会いしたのですが、ブログを通して知っているせいか、昔の友達に会ったような感じでした。（＊＾＾＊） It was the first time to meet her, but I felt like meeting an old friend since I know her through blogs. 私は忙しくて毎日必死で働いていたので、この日だけはゆっくりと食事やお喋りを楽しむことができました。 I was extremely busy at that time but I really enjoyed to have dinner and chat with her at an easy pace. メイさん、とっても楽しかったです！また遊びに来てくださいねーーー！！（＊＾＾＊） It was very fun, May-san! Please come back!! そうそう、超大型のハリケーン、アイリーンの後には家が停電しましたが、幸いお店は大丈夫だったので、 お店に寝泊まりして、4日後に復旧しました。 Oh, after the supersized hurricane, Irene, we had a blackout at home. Fortunately, our shop was OK so we stayed at the shop and the blackout was recovered after four days. 被害が広範囲で、停電した家が多かったため、もっと長く掛かると思っていましたが、予想より早く 復旧して良かったです。 Since the damage covered a widespread area, I thought it would take much longer to fix the blackout but I was happy to be back to the house. ロッドがまた仮設シャワーをお店の中に設置してくれたので、あまり不自由なく過ごせましたよ。（＾＾） Rod set up a temporary shower again, so we stayed in comfort. でも、やっぱり家のベッドで寝るのが一番ですね！！（＾＾；）ご心配をおかけしました。 However, sleeping on a bed in our house is the best! Thank you for your concern. 更新もなかなかできず、みなさんのブログにもなかなか訪問できませんが、これからも気長にお付き合いの ほど、宜しくお願いします！！（＊＾＾＊） I can only update my blog once in a while and rarely visit everyone's blog but please keep in touch with patience!! では、最後にイジーとブーブーの写真を。最近は庭で遊ぶのが大好きになり、私がマイロとマーフィーを
連れて庭に行くと、いつも後からついて来る２にゃんです。（＾＾） At the end, I put a photo of Izzy and Boo-boo. The girls like to play in the backyard now so everytime I go there with the doggies, the girls follow us. |

みなさん、こんにちは！（＾＾） Hi, everyone! 大変ご無沙汰しております！（＾＾；） It's been a very long time! もういつの間にか７月も間近に迫ってきましたね。 July is just around the corner already. 随分更新していない間に、母の日やメモリアル・デー、ロッドの誕生日、甥っ子の 大学院卒業パーティーなどいろいろな行事がありました。 While I was absent from my blog, there were some events such as Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Rod's birthday, our nephew's graduation party of the graduate school and so on. Please refer to the last year's Memorial Day article if you are interested. I am a lazy blogger lately so I did not take pictures almost anything ... Sorry. 仕事の方は、以前よりは時間の配分ができるようになりましたが、いつ忙しくなるか分からず、 時間ができると勉強の時間に当てたりしています。 Regarding my jobs, I think I can allocate the time better than before but I don't know when I will be busy so I use my time to study whenever I have spare time. 去年と違って今年は５月から気温が高く、夏のようなお天気が続いています。 今日の気温も28℃で、ワンニャンたちは涼しいオフィスで過ごしていますよ。（＾＾） Unlike last year, the temperature has been high since May and it's been summerlike weather this year. The temperature today is 28 degrees C so the dogs and the cats are staying in the cool office. I will post our animals' photos this time after a long time! まずは、先日ウサギを発見して、大興奮で吠えているマイロ（＾＾；） At first, this is a photo that Milo were barking like crazy at the rabbit the other day. このウサギさんは全然逃げませんでした。（＾＾；） The rabbit didn't go away at all. そして、私の膝の上にいたマイロのドアップ。 And, Milo's closeup photo when he was on my lap. ガムを取られないように守っているマーフィー。（＾＾） Here is Murphy protecting the gum. お店の裏庭で遊んで、小さな物をたくさん顔に付けてるマーフィー。（これっ何て言うんでしたっけ？） Murphy got a lot of little things on his face after he played in the backyard. （How does it call?) お疲れ気味のイジー。（＾＾） Tired-looking Izzy. 相変わらず大きなブーブー。（＾＾；） Still the same big Boo-boo. そして、家でお昼寝中のモリー。 Then, napping Molly at home. 最近は、イジーもブーブーもオフィスの中だけではなく、お店のショールームのエリアや庭まで 散歩に行くようになりました。 Lately, Izzy and Boo-boo hang around not only in the office but also in the showroom area and the backyard. 驚かせてます。（＾＾） They don't have a fight with Milo and Murphy and Izzy sometimes ambushes the dogs hiding somewhere. Thus, we are all very fine and doing well！ 全然更新していないのにファンでいてくださる皆さん、本当にありがとうございます！（＊＾＾＊） I really appreciate that everyone is still a fan of my blog even I don't update it so often! 時間が出来たら、ひょっこり遊びに行きますね〜！（＾＾） When I have time, I will visit your blogs suddenly! |

みなさん、こんにちは！（＾＾） Hi, everyone! 週末を楽しく過ごしてますか〜？！（＾＾） Are you enjoying this weekend?!  昨日は、すっごく久しぶりに髪の毛を染めました！！ Yesterday, I dyed my hair after a long long time!! なんと、２０年以上も髪の毛を染めて無かったんですよ！（＾＾；） Believe it or not, I haven't dyed my hair more than 20 years! 一度染めると、ずーと染めなきゃいけないし、髪が痛むと思って。。。 I thought once I dye my hair, I would have to dye it forever resulting in my hair would be damaged... However, some of my hair is turning gray noticeably lately so I decided to dye my hair! 最近のヘアカラーには、こんなにいろんな物が付いてるんですね！（＠＠） Hair colors nowadays have many things like this! トリートメントまで付いてましたよ！当たり前なのかな？！（＾＾；） It had a treatment as well! Is it normal?! あまり明るくなり過ぎないように、私の髪の色よりもちょっと明るくなるくらいにしました。 I chose the color little lighter than my hair color so that it wouldn't be too light. 久しぶりだったので、悪戦苦闘しながらも終了！（＾＾） It's been a long time so I had a hard time but I finished it! 以前の私の髪の毛はこんな感じ。もう３ヶ月くらい前の写真ですが。 My hair before is like this. The photo was taken about three months ago though. そして、これが今日撮った写真です。ちょっと明るくなったって感じかな〜。（＾＾；） Then, this is the photo I took today. My hair is little bit lighter now I guess. でも、気になっていた白髪がほとんど目立たなくなったので、とっても嬉しいです！！（＾＾） However, my gray hair that I was concerned is not noticeable any more so I am very happy!! こんなことなら、もっと早く染めれば良かったって思っちゃいました！ It I knew the result, I should have done it long time ago! ロッドも大満足。と言うか、ロッドは染めなくても大丈夫って言ってたんですけどね。（＾＾；） Rod is happy about it too. Rod told me that I wouldn't need to dye my hair though.  さて、明日は以前にロッドの友達の家で会った日本人女性とそのお友達と一緒にランチをして来ます！ Well, I am having lunch with the Japanese lady who I met at Rod's friend's house before and her friend tomorrow! とっても楽しみで〜〜〜す！！（＾＾） I am looking forward to it!! なので、明日は記事をアップ出来ないと思いますが、明後日にはその記事をアップしますね〜！！ So, I don't think I can post an article tomorrow but I will do it about it the day after tomorrow! では、皆さんも楽しい日曜日を〜〜〜！！（＾＾） OK, have a wonderful Sunday, everyone!! |

みなさん、こんにちは！（＾＾） Hi, everyone! 日曜日にドライブを楽しんだ後は、食料品の買い物に行きました。 After the drive last Sunday, we went shopping for groceries. This time, we went to an upper-class supermarket in a different shopping center. 実は、先日記事にしたデリはこのショッピングセンターの中にあるのです。 In fact, the deli I wrote the other day is in this shopping center. 先日来た時に、このスーパーD'AGOSTINOで買い物をしてみたかったので戻って来ちゃいました！（＾＾） When we came here the other day, we wanted to go shopping at the supermarket, D'AGOSTINO so we came back! D'AGOSTINOはマンハッタンに１５軒くらいあるスーパーマーケットのチェーンで、新鮮で良い品揃えなんです。 D'AGOSTINO is a supermarket chain that has about 15 stores around Manhattan and its selection of goods are excellent and fresh. お腹が空いていた私たちは、食べ物を購入してフードコートで食べることに。 Since we were hungry, we decided to buy some food and have it in the food court. イタリア系アメリカ人が経営者のせいか、ピザも店内の釜で焼いていました。（＾＾） Since the owner is an Italian American, they make pizza with a pizza kiln in the store. お寿司は種類がたくさんあって、寿司職人（？）二人（恐らく中国人）がお寿司を店内で握っていました。 There were many kinds of sushi and two sushi shefs (probably Chinese) were making sushi there. I thought I had to have some sushi so I bought this one! It was fresh and very good! ロッドのは写真を撮り忘れましたが、チキンサラダをソフトトルティーアで巻いた、チキンサラダラップ。 I forgot to take a picture of Rod's meal but they were chicken salad wraps that were chicken salad wrapped with soft tortillas. It was a hearty meal. Plus, he had a huge pickle as well! After that, we checked the supermarket and bought some things and went home. 違うスーパーに行くと、品揃えが違ったりして面白いですよね！ It is very interesting to go to a different supermarket because selection of goods are different! This shopping center is within walking distance from Rod's shop so I will go there even by myself!! |

みなさん、こんにちは！（＾＾） Hi, everyone! 今日はお店の裏庭に咲いているお花を紹介します。 Today, I will show you some flowers in the backyard of the shop. まずはアサガオ。At first, here is morning glory. こちらはアカツメクサ。This one is red clover. ロッドの好きなバッチャラーズボタン。Here is Rod's favorite, bachelor's-button. Here is poison hemlock! This time, I found out that it was poisonous while I was serching for the name of the flower for the first time! ロッドに処分してもらおうと思います。（＾＾；） I will ask Rod to get rid of it. ロッドのお母さんに貰った寄せ植えのマリーゴールドがこんなに咲きました！ The marigold of the group planting that we got from Rod's mother is blooming! そして、裏庭に面したお店の外壁にはツタがすごいです！ Then, the outside wall of the shop facing the backyard has a lot of iveis! 日本にあるお花とあんまり変わらないですね。（＾＾；） Most of the flowers are same as the ones in Japan. では、最後に置物になっているモリーの写真を。 Well, I will show you Molly's photo looks like a figurine at last. なんでここにいるんでしょうね？！（＾＾；）
