みなさん、こんにちは！（＾＾） Hi, everyone! 昨日と今日は気温が１９℃まで上がり、とっても良いお天気で暖かいニューヨークです！（＾＾） The day time high's been 19 degrees C since yesterday so it's been beautiful and warm in New York! およそ１ヶ月前に買って取りに行ってきた１９７７年製のトライアンフ（Triumph)のＴＲ７。 About one month ago, we bought and picked up 1977 Triumph, TR7. この時は動かない状態でした。（−−；） At that time, the car wouldn't start. でも、ロッドが頑張っていろんな所を直して、ちゃんと走るようになりました！（＾＾） However, Rod's been working hard on it and fixed many problems so he got it started! 早速、昨日この車でドライブに行ってきましたよ！ So, we went for a drive yesterday on the car! 残念なことに、紅葉のピークはもう過ぎてしまったのですが、まだ少し楽しめると思います。（＾＾；） Unfortunately, the height of the fall foliage has passed but you can still enjoy it little bit. まだ少し調節は必要なようですが、十分ドライブを楽しめましたよ！ The car still needs little adjustment but we really enjoyed the drive! ２５年間走っていなかった車が復活したのです！（＾＾） The car hasn't been on a road for 25 years was resurrected! このＴＲ７は＄１５００（１５万円）で買ったもの。 This TR7 was $1500 (\150,000.) それを少しずつ直してドライブを楽しむのも、なかなか良いな〜と思いました！（＾＾） Fixing it little by little to enjoy driving is kind of fun! 来年の春までには車体を綺麗にして塗装し直すそうです。 By the next spring, he is going to clean the body and repaint it. |

みなさん、こんにちは！ Hi, everyone! 昨日、ロッドが改造していたバイクが完成しました！（＾＾） Yesterday, a motorcycle which Rod had been rebuilding was complete! ハーレーのスポーツスターというバイクで、８８３〜１２００cc なので、初心者や女性に人気の種類です。 It is a Harley Sportster, populer bike among beginers and women riders because it is only 883 to 1200cc. However, the lightest weight is 563 lbs.(about 255kg.) Since the owner's son wrecked the bike, he wanted to make it look cooler as he has it fixed. 以前の写真を撮っていなかったのですが、これが同じ種類のバイクでお店にあるものです。 We didn't take any photos of the bike before, but these are the same kind of bikes at the shop. そして、これが完成後の写真です。カッコよくなったでしょう？！ Then, this is the complete bike! Doesn't it look much cooler?! お客さんは大興奮で今日引き取りに来ました！すっごく嬉しそうで、こっちまで嬉しくなります！（＾＾） The customer got really excited and picked it up today! He was so happy and we were happy for him too! このスポーツスターは新しい物で７０万円くらいから買えます。 You can buy a new Sportster from \700,000． This customer spent more money to customize his bike. ちなみに、もっと大きなツアーリングなどのハーレーだと、重さは８５２lbs.以上(約３８６kg)あり、 価格は新品で２００万円以上します。 For your information, much bigger new Harley Touring bikes weigh over 852 lbs. (about 386kg) and their prices are over \2,000,000. 最後に、マイロがバイクに乗ってるショットを！すごいでしょ！（＾＾） At last, here is a photo that Milo is riding a bike! Isn't it amazing?! では、皆さん素敵な日曜日を〜〜！！（＾＾）

みなさん、こんにちは！ Hi, everyone! 今日は雨が時々降ったりしているニューヨークです。 It's been sunny but occasionally rain in New York today. 先日のアダムの息子さん、ウイリアムの作ったコールスローが美味しくて、コールスロー作りに 挑戦したくなったロッドが昨日コールスローを作ってくれました！（＾＾） Yesterday, Rod made coleslaw that he wanted to try because Adam's son, William made delicious coleslaw the other day! なので、私は牛ハラミのステーキを照り焼きソースで焼いただけ。（＾＾） Thus, I only cooked skirt steak with Teriyaki sauce. さあ、頂きましょう！！ OK, let's eat!! またお店で食べたので、簡単な食事です。おまけに写真もボケボケです。（＾＾；） We had the dinner at the shop again so it was an easy meal. Plus, the photo is even blurry. でも、味はとっても美味しかったですよ！ However, it tasted very good! こちらのコールスローは甘みが強いことがあるのですが、甘過ぎずに私の好きな味でした！（＾＾） Coleslaw here could be too sweet for me but Rod's coleslaw wasn't so sweet and perfect for me! なんか私、最近楽してばっかりかしら。。。（＾＾；） Do I have an easy life lately, don't I?! |

みなさん、こんにちは！ Hi, everyone! 今日、５月１９日はロッドの誕生日です！（＾＾） Today, May 19th is Rod's birthday! ガーフィールドが好きなロッドに、このカードを送りました！ Rod likes Garfield so I gave this card to him! 可愛いでしょう？！（＾＾）It is cute, isn't it?! ロッドのお母さんからは、このスヌーピーのカード。可愛いですね！（＾＾）ちゃんと鏡のフィルムが付いてます。 This is a Snoopy card from Rod's mother. It is sweet! It has a mirror film on the mirror. ロッドの妹さんからは、この面白いカード。「ようこそ、バースデイ・ゾーンへ」と書いてありました！ トワイライト・ゾーンのパロディって感じですね！（＾＾） Here is a funny card from Rod's sister. It says " Welcome to the birthday zone!" It is a parody of Twilight Zone! 先日はプレゼントでロッドで驚かすことが出来なかったので、今日は他の方法で驚かすことを考えていました。 I couldn't make Rod surprise by a present the other day so I was thinking how to make him surprise in the different way. 丁度、運よくロッドが出かける用事があったので、その間に買い物に出かけて、これを作りました！（＾＾） Fortunately, Rod needed to go out so I went shopping in the meantime and made this! 糖尿病のロッドはシュガーフリーのケーキでないと食べれません。 Rod has diabetes so he can only eat sugar-free cakes. チーズケーキでシュガーフリーは見たことがないので、今回は作ってみました！ I've never seen any sugar-free cheese cakes so I made it this time! I used Sweet'N Low so I didn't use any sugar. それに、作り方もとっても簡単なんですよ！（＾＾） Plus, it is very easy to make! 《 材料:Ingredients 》 ・クリームチーズ １６オンス（大カップ） 16 oz. Cream cheese ・スイートンロー ９個 （又はお砂糖１/３カップ）9 Sweet'N Low (or 1/3 cup sugar) ・ホイップクリーム ２カップ 2 cups Whipped cream ・パイ生地 １個 1 Pie crust ・イチゴ Strawberries ・ブルーべりー Blueberries 《作り方：Recipe》 ・クリームチーズとお砂糖をボウルの中で泡だて器を使ってよく混ぜる。 Beat cream cheese and sugar in a bowl with a mixer until well blended. ・ホイップクリームを入れて良く混ぜ、スプーンを使ってでパイ生地の中に入れる。 Whisk in whipped cream and spoon into a pie crust. ・３時間ほど冷蔵庫で冷やす。イチゴやブルーベリーをアレンジして飾る。 Refrigerate about 3 hours. Arrange berries on the cheese cake. 断面はこんな感じです。ちょっと、ブルーベリーの色が付いちゃいましたが。（＾＾；） Here is a cross-sectional slice. It has a blueberry color though... 初めて作りましたが、とても美味しく出来ました！（＾＾）まあ、簡単なレシピを選らんだのですが。（＾＾；） I made it for the first time but it was very good! Well, I chose the easiest recipe though... ロッドもとても驚いていたし、喜んでくれました！（＾＾）甘すぎなくて丁度良かったようです。 Rod really surprised it and loved it! He liked it because it wasn't too sweet. これはとても簡単で美味しいので、また作ろうと思います！（＾＾） This is so easy and delicious so I will make it again! Happy birthday, Rod!

みなさん、こんにちは！ Hi, everyone! 今日は車で２０分くらいの所にある、ハーレーのディーラーシップに行ってきました。 Today, we went to a Harley dealership which is about 20 minuts away by a car. ここら辺では一番大きなディーラーで、イベントの時はこんな感じです。 The dealership is the biggest one around here and it looks like this when they hold events. 何故行ったかと言うと、１９日がお誕生日のロッドの誕生日プレゼントを買うためです！！（＾＾） We went there because the 19th is Rod's birthday and I wanted to buy a birthday present for him! いつも身に着けているハーレーのベルトがボロボロになっているので、ベルトを買ってあげたかったのです。 The belt he always wears looks worn so I wanted to buy a new belt for him. でも、車でしか行けないので、説明して連れて行ってもらいました。 However, I could only go there by a car so I explained it and asked him to go there. So I could not make him surprise by giving him a present but Rod chose his favorite one so he likes it! レジでメーリングリストに登録しているかと聞かれ、名前やお店の名前を言ったら１５％引きにしてくれました！ ラッキー！（＾＾） At a cashier, a lady asked me if I was on their mailing list, so I told my name and Rod's shop's name and she gave me 15% discount! Yeah! お店に帰って来てから、お客さんから電話がありました。 After we came back to the shop, we received a call from a customer. バイクの部品の問い合わせをして来たのですが、そのハーレーのお店でロッドを見かけたそうです！（＠＠） He asked Rod about a bike part but he also said he saw Rod at the Harley dealership! お天気もあんまり良くなかったし、お客さんはそんなに多くなかったのに・・・ It wasn't a beautiful day and there were not so many customers at the dealership... 本当に世の中って狭いですよね!（＾＾；）
