みなさん、こんにちは！大変ご無沙汰しております。（＾＾；） Hi, everyone! It's been a long time. お元気ですか？ How are you doing? 未曾有の大震災から2カ月以上が経ちましたね。 It's been over two months since the unprecedented earthquake and tunami. それでも、福島の原発の処理にはまだまだ時間が掛かりそうだし、 浜岡の原発のこともあるし。。。 Still, it is going to take a long time to process nuclear plant in Fukushima, and new concern about Hamaoka nuclear plant... 様々な不安を抱えながらも節電をし、頑張って生活しているみなさんを尊敬し、 日本人として大変誇りに思います。 I respect people who hang in there trying to save energy with all kinds of anxious and I am so proud of them as Japanese. さて、5月1日に隣町で開催された日本人主催の桜祭りに行ってきました。（＾＾） Well, we went to a cherry blossom festival hosted by Japanese in the next town on May 1st. この桜祭りに行くのは3回目でしたが、今回が一番賑わっていましたよ。 It was the third time to go to the festival but that was the most thriving one. 舞台には「がんばれ日本」の垂れ幕が。 There was a banner saying "Pray for Japan" on the stage. 恒例のお餅つきも。 Traditional rice-cake pounding as well. They served various kinds of Japanese food such as curry, udon, inarizushi and so on. 地震や津波の被害や救助の様子などの写真が飾られているブースがあったので、 そこで小さなバッチを買い、寄付もしました。 There was a booth that shows the pictures of the earthquake and tunami damage and rescue photos, so I bought a small batch and donated some money. 被害の大きさにショックを受け、ブログを書く気持ちになれませんでしたが、 これからは少しずつブログを更新していこうと思います。 I was shocked by the devastation and I did not feel like writing blog, but I am going to update my blog little by little from now on. みなさん、こんにちは！（＊＾＾＊）ご無沙汰しております！ そろそろブログを更新しようと思っていたら、日本が大変なことに。。。(T_T) 地震と津波、そして原発のニュースはこちらでも毎日ひっきりなしに放送しています。 横浜に住む私の家族や友達は幸いなことに無事でした。 それでも、ガソリンや食糧の不足があったり、計画停電などで不自由な生活が続いているようですね。 日本からの映像をこちらのニュースで見たり、ネットの日本の記事を読んだりしていると、 胸が苦しくなるほど悲しくて、何度も泣いてしまいます。 ロッドの家族や友達もみんな私の日本にいる家族を心配してくれて、本当にありがたいですね。 日本にいるブログのお友達のみなさん、大丈夫ですか？ コメントができる状況なら、どうぞ安否をお知らせくださいね。 今は原発がとても心配な状態ですね。（−−；） 本当にこれ以上被害が広がらないことを祈るばかりです。 こちらのニュースでは日本人のマナーの良さを称賛しています。 お店から商品を盗むこともなく、冷静にきちんと並んでお水や食料を受け取る日本人。 アメリカや他の国で同じような状況になったら、パニックになり大変なことになるでしょう。 みんな大変な思いや不安な思いがあっても、助け合いの精神を忘れずに頑張っている日本人を 本当に誇りに思います。 アメリカでも日本への寄付の呼び掛けが高まっています。 私も高額ではないけれど、これから寄付をします。 遠い遠いニューヨークにいるけれど、心は日本人。一日も早い救助や復旧を願っています。 みなさん、大変な状況だと思いますが、不屈の精神で頑張ってください！ ニューヨークから精一杯の愛と誠意を込めて、毎日お祈りしています。 最後に、被災者の方々に心からお見舞い申し上げます。 今回は取り急ぎ、日本語だけで記事をアップしました。ごめんなさい！（＞＜） 少しでも心が和らぐようにマイロとマーフィーの写真をアップしますね。 |

みなさん、こんにちは！（＾＾） ご無沙汰しております！（＾＾；） Hi, everyone! It's been a long time! 災害の記事の後に全然更新しなかったので、ご心配をお掛けしました。 I have not posted any articles after the disaster one so some of you guys must have worried about us. We are well and have been very busy lately! 翻訳の仕事は最近は落ち着いてきましたが、最初の頃はとても時間がかかり、大きい仕事だと 徹夜で仕事を終わらせなければならないことも3度くらいありました。（−−；） Regarding my translation jobs, at first I took a long time to do jobs so I had to stayed up all night to finish big jobs about three times but it's getting easier lately. まさかこの歳になって徹夜をするとは、と言うか出来るとは思っていませんでした。（＾＾；） I never thought that I would or could stay up all night at my age. If you are desperate, you could do anything... 最近も毎日のように仕事をしていますが、少しスピードもアップしてきたので 徹夜はしなくても大丈夫です。（＾＾；） I still work almost everyday but I am speeding up a little so I don't need to stay up all night. Plus, I need to study a medical translation correspondence course and Rod's shop is busy... Thus, I could not update my blog and visit your blogs. これからはもう少し楽になると思うので、みなさんの所にも徐々に遊びに行きますね！（＾＾） It is going to be easier from now on so I will visit your blogs little by little! さて、４月２１日は私たちの3度目の結婚記念日でした。（＊＾＾＊） Well, we had the third wedding anniversary on the 21st of April. ロッドは花束とチョコレートを送ってくれました！（＊＾＾＊） Rod sent me a bunch of flowers and some chocolate! チョコレート大好きな私にとっては、とっても嬉しかったです！（＾＾） Since I am a chocolate lover, I was very happy! ブーブーはお花を食べようとしてましたが。。。（＾＾；） Boo-boo wanted to eat some flowers thought... ロッドのお母さんはカードと一緒に１００ドル札を入れてお祝いしてくれました。 Rod's mother gave us a card with a $100 bill to celebrate. なので、私のお気に入りのお寿司屋さん、とよ寿司に二人で行ってきましたよ！（＾＾） So we went to my favorite sushi restaurant, Yoyo sushi together! 最近はブロガーらしく行動していないので、写真はこの一枚だけしか撮りませんでした。 I have not been a good bloger lately so I only took this photo. しかも、もう食べ始めてるし。。。（＾＾；） And we started to eat them before I took the picture... とっても美味しかったですよ〜〜！！ It was excellent!! でも、実はこの食事の前に一日かかって仕上げた仕事の保存に失敗してしまったんです。 However, I actually ruined an all-day work by failing to store right before the dinner. また一からやり直し。。。（＞＜） I had to redo it from the start... とてもショックだったのですが、この食事をどうしても楽しみたくて二人で行ってきました。 I was very shocked but I really wanted to enjoy the dinner so we went there anyway. 美味しいものを食べたら気持が落ち着いて、その日中に仕上げる前向きな気持ちになり、 結局午後11時くらいには終わらせることができました。（＾＾） After I had delicious meals, I calmed down and had a positive thought that I could finish the job on the day so I finally finished it around 11 PM. まさに、終わりよければ全てよし。 It is exactly "all is well that ends well." まだまだいろいろな経験をしながら成長していくのだと思いますが、いつか立派な 翻訳家になりたいと思っています。 I will probably have all kinds of experiences and grow through them but I want to be a brilliant translator someday. ちなみに、私の翻訳しているのはビジネス関連の書類やウエッブサイトのコンテンツなどで、 本などの文芸の翻訳ではないです。 For your information, I translate business documents and website contents and so on so I don't translate literary works such as books. また時間が出来たら、２ワンや３にゃんの写真もブログにアップしますね！（＊＾＾＊） When I have time, I will upload some photos of our doggies and cats! |

みなさん、こんにちは！（＾＾） Hi, everyone! 今の気温はマイナス１℃。 昨夜からの雪がまだ降っています。（−−；） It is now - 1 degrees C. It's been snowing since last night. 横浜も今日は雪のようですね！！（＠＠） やっぱり、世界的に雪が多い感じですね〜！ バンクーバー以外は。（＾＾；） It is snowing in Yokohama today as well! It seems like the whole world have more snow except Vancouver. I cannot wait for spring. さて、みなさんは素敵なバレンタインデーを過ごされましたか？ Well, everybody had a wonderful Valentine's day? 昨日は私の誕生日でした。（＊＾＾＊） Yesterday was my birthday. また一つ歳を取りました。。。（−−；） I am getting old... 最近は一年があっという間で、ちゃんと目標を立てて一年を過ごさないといけないですね〜。 Lately, I feel like a year goes by very quickly so I should set a goal each year. I made a debut as a translator so I will try to get a driver's license this year. 誕生日にはロッドと義母と私の行きたかった日本食レストランに行ってきました！（＊＾＾＊） Rod, Rod mother and I went to a Japanese restaurant whcih I wanted to go to on my birthday! This is the one "Toyo sushi"! マンハッタンには本格的な日本食のお店やお寿司屋さんなど日本人が腕を振るうお店も あるのですが、私たちが住んでいる辺りでは日本食のお店でも寿司職人や働いている人が 中国人の所がほとんどなんです。（−−；） In Manhattan, some Japanese restaurants or sushi restaurants have real Japanese chefs showing off their skills but Japanese restaurants around here, most of sushi chefs and workers are Chinese... However, the two chefs of Toyo sushi are Japanese trained in Japan! ベスト寿司レストランとして選ばれています。 It has a good rating in ZAGAT and was chosen to be the best sushi restaurant in Westchester magazine 2007. なので、とっても楽しみにしていました！（＊＾＾＊） So I was really looking forward to it! まず、これはロッドが頼んだアサリスープ。 とっても美味しくて、 ロッドもすごく気に入ったそうです。（＾＾） At first, this is clam soup that Rod ordered. It was so good that Rod really liked it. これもロッドが頼んだアボカドサラダ。 Here is avocado salad Rod ordered. 私が頼んだサーモンとウニのお寿司とスパイシーなマグロ、カニ、アボカド、天かすを 特製の海苔で巻いたとよ巻き寿司。 Here is I ordered; salmon and sea urchin sushi and Toyo roll which contains spicy tuna, crab, avocado and tempura crunch wrapped with special seaweed. お寿司も美味しかったけど、このとよ巻きがめちゃくちゃ美味しかったです！！（＊＾＾＊） The sushi was very good but the Toyo roll was excellent!! ロッドのお母さんが頼んだ海老の天ぷら。ボリュームたっぷりですよね！ This is tempura that Rod's mother ordered. It is very hearty! そして、ロッドのメインのビーフ照り焼きステーキ。 軟らかくてすっごく美味しかったそうです！ Then, this is Rod's main course, beef teriyaki. It was very tender and delicious! 写真はありませんが、サラダやご飯も勿論ありました。 I didn't take a picture but they served salad and rice as well of course. 最後に私の頼んだすき焼き。 生卵はさすがにありませんでしたが。。。（＾＾；） At last, here is sukiyaki I ordered. They didn't serve raw eggs though... すき焼きは随分食べていなかったので、思わず頼んじゃいました。 I haven't had sukiyaki for a long time so I couldn't resist to order it. お寿司も食べていた私は当然食べきれず。。。（−−；） Since I had some sushi already, I couldn't finish it... でも、すき焼きもお持ち帰りしてきましたよ〜！！（＾＾） However, I took the sukiyaki home as well! と言うわけで、大満足なお誕生日ディナーでした〜〜！！（＊＾＾＊） Thus, I really enjoyed the birthday dinner there!! |
