ポパヤン／Popayan

以前訪れた　ヴィラ（ジャ）・デ・レイバ　の大きいバージョン
真っ白なコロニアル建築の建物のみで統一され美しい。しかも安い。

でも僕はボゴタのラ・カンデラリア地区のカラフルな方が
遊び心が溢れていて好きだと　ここに来てやっぱり思った。

でもここに限らず　
何が一番すごいのかってその保存に対する取り組みだと思う。
コロニアル建築の特徴は内側に大きな空間を持った設計で
こっちの人は外枠を変えずにその内側のみを時代に対応させる事で
町を完全に保存していっている。

最たるものなんて外見は普通のコロニアルマンションなのに
実は内部は立体駐車場だったり・・・（車社会には当然町にも駐車場は必要なので）


まぁそんな話はおいといて　今日は髪切りました。
ボゴタでも切ったことあったので２度目です。
共に４０００ペソ（＄２）、これは坊主だからなのか
一般カットもこの価格なのか相場はよく分かりません。

こっちは頭をちゃんと洗ってくれないんで
洗ったあとも髪がべったり。
服についてあとで部屋かえって一本一本取るのが大変だっつーの・・・。


Bigger version of Villa de Leyva.
Many colonial buildings. Yet cheaper.
Today, I have done just few things.

One of them is went to cut my hair.
This is 2nd time in Colombia. 4000peso ($2).
Now I know that here dont wash hair well after cut.
My shirt get so many hairs and takes time to take them off..

I want to shave it so bad. This is one of my life dreams.

ドミトリー（相部屋）はカリで経験して　まぁ問題はないんですが
何せこの二日間の経緯からすぐにでも眠りにつきたかったもので・・

贅沢ですがプライベートにさせて頂きました。
プライベートとは言っても空いてる相部屋を一人で使うだけ。
混んできたら相部屋になっちゃいます。

古いコロニアルマンションを使ってるんで部屋は格好いいですが
目の前の廊下に溜まり場があるんでしゃべり声はうるさし。

住めば都、その輪に入ってしまえば楽しいのですが。

Granma run small guest house.

Domitory would be OK but this time I need good rest.
So I stay at private room here. ( use domitory room for one person )

At night and morning, we have hot shower (shared).
Only thing I dont like is I can hear everything from corridor.
We have table and chairs at corridor so other travelers talk up late there.

リアルスナフキン現る／Real Snafkin !

因縁の町ピタリト　
このアホみたいな名前は僕の記憶から消えることはないでしょう。

さてこの嫌な事尽くめの町でしたが唯一明るい思い出は
帰りのバスターミナルで同じくポパヤンへ向かう

女スナフキンに出会ったこと。

ヨーロッパな顔立ち、そしてそのいでたち、、明らかに旅人、
僕はこの二日間の思いをぶつけるべく話しかけたのですが
英語通じずスペイン語、なぜに！？　僕は話したいのにぃ・・

何故かって言われて納得、彼女はフランス人
ヨーロッパで英語話さないなんてフランス人くらいだもん
そんな訳で、スペン語で話を多少捻じ曲げ（簡略化し）ながらある程度分かってもらい
僕の思いは晴れたのでした。

まぁとにかく彼女は格好よかったです。
こんな子はいったいどんな男に恋をするのか想像もつきません。
（ちなみに写真の子供は現地の子供です）


At the bus terminal of Pitalito,
i was waiting for another 6 hours of living hell like bus ride desparately.

I thought there would no travelers at this remote town.
But one, obviously traveler from Europe showed up.

"She" just looks like Snafkin.

I talked to her but she doesnt speak English.Why ?
Oh year, she is from France. No one there speaks English.

Well but she speaks good Spanish.
Wierdly, we spoke in Spanish.

Anyway, she is just so cool.
Here we try not to get attenstions, but look at her ! ( baby is not hers )

１０月２０日　カリを出てポパヤンを目指します。

忘れ物をして２度ゲストハウスに引き返すなど
この日は出だしからどうにかしてました。

お昼にはバスに乗り３時にポパヤンに着く簡単な移動なはずだったのに
結果、この旅始まって以来の失態です。

３時間で確かにポパヤンに着いた（ていた）のですが　ここは南米
気を抜かず、ポジティブシンキングもすべきではなかった・・。

バスは行先名が書かれたのボードをダッシュボードにおいて走るんですが
ポパヤンについたあともこのボードをこのバスは変えなかったのです・・。
まぁ次のターミナルだろうなんて思ったが最後、
舗装なんてされてない過酷な山奥を走ること６時間！
この時も僕はきっと何らかの事情で迂回路を走ってるんだとポジティブに耐えてました。

タクシードライバーにこのホテルへ、、とポパヤンの地図見せながらしばらく走ってたら
「でもここポパヤンじゃなくてピタリトだし・・・」　
ピタリトなんて町の名前は僕の頭にないんでしばらく状況把握に時間を要します

そして絶句

こうして翌日もう一度この過酷な道を耐えることが決定
実はこの日＄１００札も紛失しており（自責）・・いい土産話ができました！。

どれくらいシビアな道だったっていうと
１００ｋｍの移動距離に６時間以上かけて走ってるんで　そんな感じです。
この日のホテルに地図があったんで見てたら標高４５００ｍ級の山の間を走ってました。
どうりで激寒（だけどドライバーは半そでで窓全開）だった訳。
翌日GPS を眺めてたら最高地点は３２００ｍ、思ったより低かったですがそれでも・・。

着いて分かったのですがピタリト
SAN　AUGSUTIN　という世界遺産にもなっている遺跡に１時間弱と近く
折角なら寄っていけばよかったんですが既に僕の心は折れてました。
ピタリトのターミナルで翌日であったフランス人いわく最高！らしいので
機会があったらまたこの山道を走るかも知れません。

こうして二日間の激走は終わり無事ポパヤンに着いたのですが
まだ疲れ癒えずコロンビアのハイライトのひとつとなっている
コロニアルの町並みをほとんど見ないままに終わりかけています・・・。

明日、２３日に国境の町イピアレスまでまた・・８時間かけて移動し
２４日にはエクアドルの首都キトまで行く予定です。

I left Cali 12pm( 20th October ).
It should be 3 hours of easy drive.

But, it ended up my worst mistake ever.
Bus got to Popayan in three hours but they didnt change the destination board.
So I thought we were not popyana yet, maybe next.

Many people came in there.
I asked to local next to me, how many hours more ?
He said 5. It was 3pm then, so I thought he meant 5pm.
OK, maybe we took detour or something and delayed.

Well, we left "real Popayan", and went through severe mountains
LOOON WAY of unpaveddirt road.
It was more than 6 hours after all, I got to (supposed to be Popayan) after 9pm.

I took Taxi, asked to take me a hotel on guidebook.
Said didnt know this place off course in Spanish.
After few minutes, I understood what he was saying totally.

I was not in Popayan, but Pitalito ? Where is that ?!
I was 6 hours away from Popayan, I got sooo tired by knowing that.

How severe ? Just 100Km drive took more than 6 hours.
This just tells you, I think.
You can maybe get better idea from pictures that I took on the way back (21th).
So far, it was cambodia (thai border to Siem Reap) that is most severe road (but fun).
But now I gradly choose Colombia (Popayan to Pitalito) as the worst.

What the map at hotel told was we came through between mountains more than 4500m high.
On the way back, I checked by GPS. Highest point of road was 3200m.

I ditnt stop by at San Agustin where is world heritage archaelogical sites
even though it was just less than 1 hour away from Pitalito.
I just wanna come back to what I planned, and get rest. Maybe next year.

So now here I am, at Popayan, still so tired.
Well tomorrow I have to take another 8 hours ride to border town "Ipiales".
On 24th, I should be at Quito, Ecuador.

ホテル＠ピタリト/Hotel in Pitalito

１０月２０日にピタリトで泊ったゲストハウスです。
カリから３時間先のポパヤンに行きたかったんですが
誤ってそこからさらに６時間先、つまりカリから結局９時間先の辺境の地
ピタリトという町まで来てしまいました。

すでに夜１０時、来てしまったものは仕方がないんで
タクシーに安いところ適当に探してもらったんですがどこも週末でいっぱいでここに。

２５０００ペソ（＄１３）で高い割りにシャワーは水だし
隣の部屋のいびきは聞こえるし、朝６時過ぎに頼んでないのに
コーヒー持ってきて起こすし（早く帰れってことか？）
踏んだりけったりの一日でした。

カリで罰当たりなことした天罰なのかも知れないと今更ながら反省してます。


This is where I stayed in Pitalito, Colombia on 20 de Octobure.
By mistake, I went to Pitalito, 9 hours away from Cali,
when I was supposed to go Popayan, 3 hours away.

There was nothing I could do, so I asked taki driver to take me hotel.
Badly, cheap hotels were all filled, so I stayed this hotel.
I was so tired that I couldnt even care about the name.

25000peso ($13), most expensive so far, yet without hot shower.
Thin wall, I could even hear snoring from next room...
