Dragon Fruit

Dragon fruit is a very delicious fruit that I tried for the very first time here. The inside comes in 2 colors, white and red, both have the same taste.

¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 2

Noni Fruit

Have you ever tried Noni fresh juice? It is highly antioxidant, however the taste is awful! This is the fruit.
¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 3

Papaya

I got papaya right off the tree and had it for breakfast. Actually I stole it from Ryukyu mura's tree.
¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 4
Riped and ready to eat is when it's color changes to brownish spots. I could not believe this explanations until I tried it myself.
¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 8

Banana

I bought a bunch of bananas that had to be held suspended all the way back to Tokyo! That was a big challenge!
¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 7
¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 9

Passion Fruit

This one is pure vitamin C! The right timing of eating it is actually when the peel is all bumped and shaggy not round and shiny. Check it out:

Star Fruit

Shaped like a star and juicy, it is not my favorite, but the taste is quite interesting.
¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 13
¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 14

Pineapple

The pineapple grown in Okinawa is so sweet!
¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 10

Shima mikan or tangerines

They are tasty! I love them!
¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 15

Fruits in Okinawa are so expensive, especially at the airport

Pineapple was so sweet but the prices ranged from 700 to 1400 yen per piece! I also bought star fruit and passion fruit, atemoya and a bunch of bananas.

Shuri was the palace of the Ryūkyū Kingdom

¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 1
In 1945, during the Battle of Okinawa, it was almost completely destroyed, with only a few walls standing as high as a few decimeters. In 1992, it was reconstructed on the original site based on photographs, historical records, and memory.
¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 2
For 450 years from the beginning of the 15th century, it was the royal court and administrative center of the Ryūkyūan Kingdom. It was the focal point of foreign trade, as well as the political, economical and cultural heart of the Ryūkyūs.

According to records, Shuri Castle burned several times, and was reconstructed each time. Before the war, it was designated a National Treasure, but during the war, the Japanese military set up its headquarters underground at the castle, and beginning on May 25, 1945, the American battleship Mississippi shelled it for three days. On May 27 it burned.

¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 3
After the war, the University of the Ryūkyūs moved to the castle site, where it remained until 1975. In 1958, the Shureimon gate was rebuilt, and in 1992, the main building of the castle was reconstructed. At present, the entire area around the castle has been established as Shuri Castle Park. In 2000, along with other gusuku and related sites, it was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The inside splendor is amazing. You can detect Chinese and Japanese culture influences all over the place.

Jidori Ogon Soba. This dish is so delicious that you will never forget the taste of it, and you will always think of going back to have some more. At least I did. I went back to this shop after 2 years and half, and I am glad I did it. ÃϷܲ«¶â¤½¤Ð

The other item on the menu is Jidori Keihan. This dish has rice underneath the topping of chiken meat and vegs. You add it to the soup that comes separate with it. This one is also delicious! ÃÏ·Ü·ÜÈÓ¡£¥¹¡¼¥×¤ËÉÕ¤±¤Æ¿©¤Ù¤ë¡£

Take the Okinawa expressway towards Nago. Exit at the very last exit, Kyoda and head north to Nago on Route 58. Follow the signs to Okinawa Ocean Expo Park. Turn left from Route 58 onto Route 449. Follow the road until you get to Route 114, and as you turn left onto Route 114, you will see a Family Mart-Convenience Store-on your left. Follow the road until you see the hotel on your right.

Hotel Mahaina was best choice so far of all my stays in Okinawa because it had:
¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 3- real onsen (hot springs) OPEN HOUR 16:00-23:00. Hotel Mahaina Wellness Resort Okinawa has Thalasso therapy facilities, and the hotel's specialty is its wellness program. As rain is absorbed by coral reefs protruding from the ocean, rich minerals are produced. These minerals permeate the groundwater and accumulate in hot springs. Hot springs offer total relaxation, and their heat is effective for neuralgia and rheumatism.

¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 4 -heated indoor pool where I could swim (though I hated the chlorinated water and air in it),

¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 5 - garden pool (though at the end of Nov it was too cold to use it)

¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 6 - not only my room but all rooms are large and light, and have ocean view.

¥¤¥á¡¼¥¸ 7 - healthy macrobiotic cuisine in Oli Oli restaurant.¡¡

- free shuttle to the Ocean Expo Park and the Churaumi Aquarium.
Imagine yourself in a southern paradise between the blue sky and emerald sea.
