単語１つ調べる。ぼくにとっては読解が非常に難しかった。辞書を見てもどういう意味に取ったらいいのかまったくわからない単語 egkeklimene~s の意味について突然アッとひらめいたとき全体の意味が見えた。面白いことが書いてあった。昔の人の世界の地理的イメージについて非常に文学的に理解できる面白い記述。この本はたぶんそういう記述がいっぱいちりばめられているから、ずーっと訳していくととてもいい仕事になると思う。ただのなんというか非人間的な鳥瞰図的な天文学でなく、地上に立つ人の目が中心になった 3d の世界観がほんとにイメージできる。

単語１つ調べる。今日の箇所は簡単だった。ただ、homologe~tai の接続法がよくわからなくて Smyth を調べた。主文における an を伴わない接続法の、ここに合いそうな意味の勧奨的接続法はふつうは一人称でしか使わないと書いてて、三人称単数の例文がなくて、なんか曖昧なままだ。

前回予定した通り、天球の中の大地の位置についての第一の仮定のついての吟味のところ (４月１８日から訳しはじめてる) を手直しした。大幅な手直しになった。たくさんの誤訳を、少なくとも、改善できた。次回も同箇所の修正をつづける。

きのうやったところをさらに手直しした。話のだいたいのイメージはつかめてるのだけど、細かいところの訳がまだずれている。

前回、前々回やったところをまた手直し。今回は図に描いてみてイメージしながら解読しようと試みた。プトレマイオスがどういうイメージを心に描きながらここを書いたのか、それがわからないとここはちゃんと訳せなそう。

この前までやったところが細かい意味のずれがあり具体的なイメージのハッキリとわかない訳だったので、今日さらにまた見直ししてみたら、今日はかなり満足のいく修正ができた。プトレマイオスがイメージして書いたであろう、そのイメージがわかった気がする。
