女子ワールドカップ優勝に対する祝電メールが届いていたのでご紹介します。

 

１）ドイツの顧客（購買部長から）

 

Congratulations for your woman's soccer team.

They won the world soccer championship in one of the best soccer final games I ever saw.

Yesterday evening I had the pleasure to watch it at TV, great!

（貴国の女子サッカーチーム、おめでとうございます。

彼女たちはサッカーの世界大会で優勝しましたが、その決勝戦は私がこれまでに見た試合で最高のものでした。昨夜、ＴＶで試合を見て楽しい時を過ごしました。

素晴らしい！）

 

２）ドイツの顧客（エンジニア）

Congratulations to the new world champion.

 

It was an amazing game with outstanding players on both sides. Dramatic and tension couldn’t be higher.

 

Remarkable the calmness of Japans defence when playing the ball to each other when American strikers where so close.

 

Best of all was Sawa. Wonderful and amazing. She was always everywhere and her goal was Brazilian (who is Marta?) like and one of the best. (Best in my eyes was Hammarströms 2:1 against France )

 

新しい世界チャンピオン、おめでとうございます。

素晴らしいゲームでした。両チームの選手とも際立っていました。

これ以上の劇的で緊張感はありえないでしょう。

特筆したいのは、アメリカ・チームの攻撃が非常に迫って、ボールをお互いにパスしていった時の、日本の守備の冷静さです。

最高なのは沢でした。素晴らしいし、驚きです。

彼女はいつもどこにでもいて、彼女のゴールはブラジル人のようでした。最高のものです。

（私が見る限り、1番最高だったのは対フランス戦の２：１のときのHammarströmsです）

辞書によると「Congratulations on…..」ですが、彼らはネイティブではないので、Congratulations toでもforでも、よし、としましょう。

ちなみに、Congratulationsは、運で得たものではなくて、努力して勝ち取ったものに対する「おめでとう！」です。
