I’ve heard that some of the ALTs are leaving and looking for new jobs.
So I’d like to tell them this Japanese proverb,
“捨てる神あれば拾う神あり”
The literal meaning of this sentence is “There is a god who pick it up,
If there is a god who throw it away” I would interpret it,
“You will meet someone who leaves you, but you will meet someone who takes you”
15 years ago, I lost my job. I worked at a supermarket, but it broke down.
So I needed to find a new job. I often visited employment office and many companies with my
resume. But it didn’t work out for me. They said “humm…I see you speak
English, But you don’t need to speak English, because we are all Japanese”
I was deeply disappointed and started thinking like “I’m not needed in this
society or I’m a loser” But I just kept going and tried to stay tenacious.
One day, I found an advertisement of K clinic and had a job interview with the doctor.
She said “Oh, you speak English! I’m looking for someone who speaks English!
OK, You are hired” She took only 15 seconds to decide to take me.
What I learned from this experience is “I met someone who left me, But I met someone
who took me. I didn’t have to think like I’m not needed or I’m a loser”
Please remember this proverb, 捨てる神あれば拾う神あり
If you stay tenacious and keep going, You will meet someone who takes you and find a job.
I guarantee it!
