14:35-14:45 Introduction of CITY NET by MS. Anna Caro- Secondary Staff from Makati,
Philippines
CITY Net was founded in 1987, and is an active network across the Asia-Pacific
region, committed to helping local governments improve the sustainability of
human settlements.

Urban Transportation system in Yokohama
Brief History, Disasters, Trial& error and Outlook
Yokohama transportation system started from the gift , a 1/4 scale model of an
steam locomotive. October 14th 1872, first railway train service began between
Yokohama and Shinbashi in Tokyo. He talked about the development of
transportation through Yokohama history
15:10-16:00 Presentation by NUS students
1.Countering Congestion The ERP system
The presentation will introduce the electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system and
highlight recent developments made to the system since its implementation in
1998. Their presentation aims at positioning the ERP system as a unique
solution to read congestion.
2.MRT System in Singapore
Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system in Singapore and how this system is designed to
align with the vision of Land Transport Authority Singapore of delivering a
people-centered transport system are discussed during the presentation.
16:15-17:10 Break-out session into 7 discussion groups
Discussion Topic: Urban transportation—opportunities and challenges;
transportation for elderly – Can technology help?
17:10-17:30 Presentation by each group, by one Japanese student and one Singapore student.
17:30-17:45 Introduction of CITNET Youth Programme Plan
They are a youth organization focusing on contributing to world peace with
a partnership of other youth groups either in Japan or in the world
17:45-17:55 Feed back from Prof. Chin.
The meaning of international exchange:
1 ,inform (knowledge)----2. Interact (work together and understand each
other )---3. Integration (solution, putting what you learned into practice)
