おモチを短時間で焼き上げる方法

「おモチを短時間でこんがりと焼き上げるにはどうすればいい？」
“How can rice cake be grilled brown in a short time ?”

１．簡単そうで失敗の多いのが焼きモチです。
It is not as easy as it looks to succeed in grilling rice cake.

(注：直訳は「モチをうまく焼くことは見かけほど簡単ではない」)

２．火加減をちょっと強くしたばっかりに真っ黒にこがしてしまったり、ちょうどいい焼き色が

　　ついたと思ったら、中がまだかたかったりなんてことがあります。
Rice cake will be burnt black if the fire is turned up a bit too strong, and even if it seems
to have a nicely toasted color, the inside may still be hard.

　　(注： turn up = 〔火力・明るさ・音量など)〕を上げる)

３．そこで、アルミ箔の登場です。おモチよりも少し大きめに切って、網に乗せたおモチを覆って

焼いてみてください。
Then, here comes aluminum foil. Cut the foil a little larger than the rice cake,

   and cover the rice cake on the grilling net with the foil and toast the rice cake.

４．たったこれだけで、いつもより早くこんがりとおモチが焼き上がります。
    The rice cake will be burnt brown faster than usual with only this technique.
     Simply doing this, will help toast the rice cake nicely brown faster than usual.

５．これは、熱の伝導率のいいアルミが、上からもおモチを加熱してくれるためです。
     This is because aluminum foil with good thermal conductivity also heats the rice cake from above.

６．これがグレードアップちょいワザ！　網に乗せたおモチの上から、土鍋のふたをすっぽりと

    かぶせてみましょう。
    　This is an   upgraded little   technique. 　　Cover the rice cake on the
      grill completely with a lid of an earthen pot.

７．弱火でも意外なほど早く焼き上がるので、強火にしてこがしてしまうことがなくなります。
     Rice cakes can also be grilled unexpectedly quickly over low heat, so there will be no worry

of burning them over high heat.
