ラヴェンナ -- ヘッセ

今日のドイツ語の詩はヘルマン・ヘッセのラヴェンナである。印象深い詩であり、ドイツ系の作曲家が作曲している。

Ravenna

Ich bin auch in Ravenna gewesen,
Ist eine kleine, tote Stadt,
Die Kirchen und viel Ruinen hat,
Man kann davon in den Büchern lesen.

Du gehst hindurch und schaust dich um,
Die Straßen sind so trüb und naß
Und sind so tausendjährig stumm,
Und überall wächst Moos und Gras!

Das ist wie alte Lieder sind,
Man hört sie an und keiner lacht,
Ein jeder lauscht und jeder sinnt
Hernach daran bis in die Nacht.

僕が以前訪れたことがある
ラヴェンナは死せる小都市。
書物に書かれているように
教会と無数の遺跡がある。

通り抜け見て回ってごらん
街は湿気て、とても暗い。
千年の間沈黙を守ったまま

都市はさながら古い民謡
耳にすると、皆真面目に
つい聞きほれ、夜中まで
考え込んでは想い出す。

Ravenna is a city of art and culture...
According to Wikipedia, during influential German poet Hermann Hesse's travels, he came across Ravenna and wrote several beautiful poems capturing the soul of the city. I will read this poem in English or in French, because unfortunately, I cannot read in German...:)

Thank you for your comment. I don't know about the German copy right law. Even in the U.S. where Micky Mouse lobbyists are so active, his works belong tp PD. You cannot find any Hesse in Gutenberg project.

But you can acceses to " Lied and Song Texts Pages", the site created by a female Canadian computer engineer, who volunteers to translate some non-English peoems set to music. I suppose she or her husband may be a German descent.You might happen to find her translation. Thank you again for your visit and have a good sleep!

When I was an University studant(My major is French language and literature), I learned German for 1 year. But I forgot my German, because I did not have opportunity of practicing German language. I think that German language is also beautiful.
