魚の囮 -- ジョン・ダン

「今日の詩」は以前に選者が送ってきた「魚の餌」である。これはマーロウの「羊飼いと恋人」のパロディーである。さらにフロストの「彼岸嵐の歌」もパロディーであることはすでに紹介した。

色々あるらしいが、ジョン・ダンの版も紹介しておこう。マーロウは楽しい田園生活を約束して彼女を誘惑している。僧籍に身を置いたジョン・ダンは講話の詩「恋の錬金術」を「女どもはしょせん狂ったミイラだ」で締めくくった詩人である。マーロウの詩を受けてダンが書いた詩では、話者は彼女に「美しい君が囮になれば魚が釣れる」とお世辞を言って、彼女を「釣ろう」という趣向。

The Bait

Come live with me, and be my love,
And we will some new pleasures prove
Of golden sands, and crystal brooks,
With silken lines, and silver hooks.

There will the river whispering run
Warm'd by thy eyes, more than the sun;
And there the 'enamour'd fish will stay,
Begging themselves they may betray.

When thou wilt swim in that live bath,
Each fish, which every channel hath,
Will amorously to thee swim,

魚の囮

僕の恋人になり一緒に住んでおくれ
絹の釣糸と銀の釣針を垂らす
黄金の砂に水晶の小川
楽しいことはすぐに分かるはず。

川はささやきながら流れている
川は太陽よりも君の瞳で暖まる。
川から離れられない惚れ込んだ魚
そ知らぬ振りしてもばれてしまう、

君がこの素敵な所で水浴すれば
魚にはみな水路があるから
君にうっとりして魚は泳いでくる
君を捕まえたいのは魚の方さ。

外道の魚は引っかかる葦で締め出し
貝殻か水草でヒレを切るがいい

それか騙しが好きな絹袖の毛鉤で

I heard that in this poem, "The Bait" means beautiful woman's body(美しい女性の肉体). I like his cynicism shown in his poems.

(美しい女性の肉体) is authentic Japanese. Great improvement! I hear many parodies of Marlow's "Come live with me, and be my love". Wouldn't you try a franchofile Korean girl's version?
