死体安置所 -- リルケ

今日のリルケの詩は "Morgue" 「死体安置所」である。彼の訪問先は美術館や宮殿だけではない。今日は死体がどのように処理されていくかを描写し、ソネットに纏め上げている。ロマン派のバイロンが転がす死体ではない。きわめて冷徹である。詩が扱う「詩的な主題」の範囲は随分広がったものである。

今日の絵は困った。誰も写真にしたがらないし、あるとしても、著作権問題に引っかかりそうである。「死体」と「死」は違う。ゴヤの死体も考えたが、私の好きな絵を飾ろう。絵はリルケの詩とは無関係な「栄光の死」である。エル・グレコEl Greco（1541―1614）の「オルガス伯の埋葬」である。

Morgue

Da liegen sie bereit, als ob es gälte,
nachträglich eine Handlung zu erfinden,
die mit einander und mit dieser Kälte
sie zu verwöhnen weiß und zu verbinden;

denn das ist alles noch wie ohne Schluß.
Was für ein Name hätte in den Taschen
sich finden sollen? An dem Überdruß
um ihren Mund hat man herumgewaschen:

er ging nicht ab; er wurde nur ganz rein.
Die Bärte stehen, noch ein wenig härter,
doch ordentlicher im Geschmack der Wärter,

nur um die Gaffenden nicht anzuwidern.

当然のように死体は横にされ
引き続き処置する準備は完了
死体をすべて纏めて冷やして
白い布を被せてから固定する。

キリがない作業のようだった。
財布の中から名前を確定する
ために何を見るか？口の周りの
食い物の汚れは拭き取られた。

何も出ずに、口は清潔になり
髭は少しばかり硬くなったが
口を開いた人が吐かないように

看守の趣味次第で整えられる。
死体の両眼はその瞼の後ろで
反されて、中から覗いている。

This painting is exactly my style. Thank you. And about Maria Rilke, Michel Schneider wrote about his last moments and his death in the essay <Morts Imaginaires>. I like Rilk's poems. Of course, I read his poems in korean translation, because I cannot understand German. I envy you for your good ability to understand German.

Rilke is the toughest poet. But I think it is the last chance to challenge his poem, as my memory is deteriorating day by day. Rilke is a Paneuropean author. He is trilingual just like you. His important poets have French edition by author himself?

I think that I found two French editions by author. <Poèmes à la nuit> and <Le livre de la pauvreté et de la mort>. I think that they are not french translation versions, but French edition by author .

Oh, is that so? I have known little of him. Thank you for your information. He could share the table at cafe with French and German friends. The episode remid me of a Canadian prime minister , a beutiful example of bilingual. I do not remember his name begining with T. He was divorced from his very young but wild wife, who had an affair with a rock'n'roll singer.
