ビッグ・バブーン -- ヒライア・ベロック

今日の詩はアメリカのサイトでなければ選者が送ってこなかったヒレイア・べロックの「ビッグ・バブーン」である。これはひょっとすると、コミックのキャラクターかもしれない。なにしろ頼りになるのはお金だけという近代資本主義の２０世紀に活躍し、アメリカでも有名なイギリスの多作な文筆家のべロックが関わっている。彼は大真面目な詩を書いた人物であり、すでに私のブログでも紹介した。ドイツにもブッシュという人が漫画のセリフを詩の形式にした人物がいるから、彼が漫画に関わった最初の詩人ではない。だが、人騒がせというのもこの業界で生き残るための資質なのだろうか。この詩のキャラクターＴhe Big Baboonについてはまったく知らない。これが懐かしいという人はまだご健在なのだろうか？一応訳をしてみるが、Ｔhe Big Baboon の漫画を見ていただきたい。

It's an another poem ofHilaire Belloc! This poem is the type of poem, that I like. This poem is interesting. Especially, I'm interested in many kinds of monkeys. So I have once a French book on many kinds of monkeys. I think the baboon in the photo is "hamadryas baboon" according to http://100.naver.com/100.nhn?docid=60370
This monkey seems cute for me.^^

His full name is Joseph Hilaire Pierre Ren?? Belloc, very French-sounding name. You can guess his nationality when he was born. He is half-French. His father was born near paris to a French father and an English mother. His "mother toungue" may be English. His wife is American. Very international. He was a naturalized Briton, but converted to Roman Catholic. Very busy!
