Yes, 許南麒(Heo Nam Gi) is Korean name. 許南麒 is 在日朝鮮人. I heard that he was born in Busan in 1918.

I learned a story of a general killed by a suicidal korean girl. According to my friend, his name was 小西行長! He returned back alive from the Korean campaign. Then I lost interest in her not-authentic story. He was executed after his army was defeated by 徳川家康. Now I found another name, of which I have no idea.

His name is 毛谷村六助(Keyamura Rokuske. Is he a famous general in Japan?

Two persons share the name 毛谷村六助. One joined the Korean Campaign. Another is a hero in Kabuki. I cannot find any dependable evidence of 毛谷村六助's life on web. Maybe he was one of 秀吉's reliable vassal and joined the campaign. I do not know his name. His career may be cut short in Korean peninsula. That is all what I can say now.

毛谷村六助 is well known in Korea. According to Wikipedia Japan, he is one of the general who joined the campaign. I cannot find his name on other Wikipedia articles. I will search when he died.

毛谷村六助 was a vassal of 加藤清正, the most militant vassal of 豊臣秀吉。There is three theory of his death. /He was killed when the Japanese army besiege a citadel in Korea./ He was drowned with a Korean girl. /He died at age 62 in Japan. Anyway he was a soldier and not very important in Japanese history. But he was well known as a brave soldier and modelled on a kabuki character.

毛谷村六助 served 加藤清正. It means that there was almost no opportunity for a soldiers, if not clever, with Herculean strength to be active. he was not suited for the warless society. Presumably, he was willing to join the campaign and kill many Korean. One of the most terrible soldiers. I can understand that he was a legendary villain In the peninsula. Then he played a hero's role in the Kabuki theater in the Edo era.

My conclusion at present. I am sorry to say that there is no documental evidence about his last in Japan. His name, left to Korean history, disappeared from the orthodox Japanese history. He was representative of Japanese soldiers' vandalism, I guess.

No documentary evidence available in Japan. But it does not always mean that the Korean folklore is false. The Japanese historian were reluctant to referer to Korean story. I am confident that there were Korean girls who chose to commit suicide rather than to be raped. Some selected Samurais in decorative armor.

毛谷村六助 might be a rapist. Soldiers who are uncertain of their life tomorrow, are fonds of animated object, dog, cat, horse, and woman. But he was the solders of soldiers. The Krean story is embarrasing. Heroic death in battle was easily acceptable in japan. Brave or not brave as he may be, the Korean campaign doomed to be a military failure.

And that, there exists a grave which reads 毛谷村六助之墓 in 九州. I am not sure who sleeps there. Anyway, he was born too late to leave his name to history in Japan

去年まで、毎年夏に何度も行っていた山国川の水源近くが毛谷村でそこに毛谷村六助の墓があります。そのことが話題になっていたので驚きました。

私は毛谷村六助の事は知りませんでした。若い頃韓国の徹底した反日政策に反感を覚えていた頃、韓国では小西行長が朝鮮の美少女に抱きつかれて崖から落ちて死んだとことになっているという笑い話を聞きました。私の話は紆余曲折がありますのでまた直してください。

彼の武将としての活躍はその後の歌舞伎の創作等もありますが、百科事典やウィキペディア等にも解説がありません。毛谷村六助は韓国では戦場での活躍よりも、貞操観念と愛国思想の堅固な女性の道連れになった人物として今後も長く記憶されることになりそうです。

武将としての六助は知りませんでした。六助の墓の由来では、朝鮮出兵の折、秀吉の前で行われた相撲大会で優勝した…というような話だったように記憶しておりました。墓自体はそれほど立派で大きなものではなかったと記憶しております。

小西行長がそのような最期を遂げた話になっているのですか。せめて歴史の事実だけは正しく伝わるように願いたいものですね。

これは私の友人（日本人）の大昔の話です。彼が何処から得た情報かは定かではありません。友人と再会する機会もありますので、確かめたいと思います。もっとも韓国の歴史に詳しい人ではありませし、反日的な韓国の文献を読んだわけではありません。友人に情報を提供した人の勘違いかも知れません。

ただ朝鮮のジャンヌ・ダークのような女性にいろんな伝説があってもおかしくはありません。彼女のステイタスとしては、心中の相手として毛谷村六助よりも小西行長が相応しいのかなとも思います。
