窓 その五 春 テニスン

この「春」という詩がサリヴァンとテニスンの連作歌曲集「窓」の一部であることを知らずにブログに投稿してしまった。この訳は「窓」の構成順序を尊重して再度投稿する。

テニスンは連作の題を「ミソサザイの歌(The Songs of the Wrens)」とする予定であった。作曲者の意向であろうか「窓(The Window)」になった。前回同様に、学術名ミソサザイは少しうるさい感じなのでサザイとした。

The photo of birds is excellent! And this photo goes very well with the poem. This poem has regular rhythms; repeat of -e, -r, -s. Poems with regular rhythms are as like songs.

And I like very much this photo of birds, which reminds me of birds' patterns in the grey Kimono worn by my favorite Ichimatsu doll with very white face, that I presented you in your guest book of blog and in my blog already. ^

The photo is a couple of wrens. I have no idear of wren ミソサザイ. Do you know it? According to Wikipedia, Wren is very popular in England and highly regarded as a clever bird. He/she was a God or its incarnation in Celtic mithology.

We asian love 鶯(warbler). 鶯 is a popular in asian art. But warbler is not popular in England. Warbler is used derogatively to a female singer who migrates from bar to bar for small money.

It may be so embarassing for tennyson who wanted to cancel the contract with his publisher. He was so ashamed of this song series. He even proposed to pay £500 for cancelation. He sleep now in Westminster but may be uneasy and disturbed to know an Aisian girl read his <disgusted> poem. He thought the work was dullest.

Thank you for your various explanations which enabl me to learn varions things like warbler, the story about tennyson. First I checked Korean Wikipedia(http://100.naver.com/100.nhn?docid=23737) in order to know how "wren" is translated into Korean. I have never seen wrens in Seoul. Very pretty birds!

<Wren> is popular among bird watchers in Japan. We have Asian wrens a bit different from European ones. I have learned about wrens especially popular in England. I hear he/she is a very Celtic bird. As you know celtic tadition is annihilated in the Continet. In England, some Celtic culture are preserved in islands, England and Ireland. So wrens may be biologically alive but culurally one of the endangered species. Please keep watch on Wren or roitelet in French.
