英訳：竹里館 ― 王維

王維の「竹里館」の英訳である。竹が重要な素材であり、bamboo は韻を組みやすい語であるが、五韻詩(pentasyllabic)を狙ったため、この語を捨てた。またbless も同様の理由から、過去形にせざるをえなかった。三短現は blesses となり一音節増えるからである。最後の一行は commune と moon の内韻を重視した。

独坐幽篁裏
弾琴復長嘯
深林人不知
明月来相照

独り座す幽篁の裏
琴を弾じて復た長嘯
深林人知らず
明月来りて相照らす

is pronounced inti "Wang Yu". He is famous. In English version, this poem has regular melodie -d, -de in first and second lines and -ne, -oon in third and fourth lines. I like poems which have regular melodies
