ブラウニングは僕の星をみつけた。僕にだけ赤や青の矢を放つ。もちろんこれは意中の女性のことである。今回で二度目の訳である。のろけているうちに次第に雄弁になっていく過程も面白い。二歩格で始まった詩が最後には六歩格になっている、

My Star

All, that I know
Of a certain star
Is, it can throw
(Like the angled spar)
Now a dart of red,
Now a dart of blue
Till my friends have said
They would fain see, too,
My star that dartles the red and the blue!
Then it stops like a bird; like a flower, hangs furled:
They must solace themselves with the Saturn above it.
What matter to me if their star is a world?
Mine has opened its soul to me; therefore I love it.

僕の星

ある星で
話す事は
矢を放つこと
（角張ったスパー）
赤い矢を放てば
次は青い矢を放つ
すると友人たちは
赤や青の矢を放つ
僕の星を見たいという！
なら星は鳥のように止まり
花のようにしおれるだろう。
みな上の土星で慰めるがいい。
土星は天体だが、僕にはどうでもいい。
僕に心を開いたから、僕の星が好きなのだ。
