私は死者も負傷者も一人もいないし、スーパーには物があふれていて、震災の影響をほとんど受けていない地域にすんでいます。

私は横浜に住んでいる友人と東京に出かけてルブラン展を見に行く約束をしていました。横浜から東京へ出かけるほうが大変みたいです。

何よりも気落ちしたのと、いま自分の楽しみを追求するのが憚られるのです。贅沢な料理を売り物にするブログをコンスタントに投稿している人がいますが、私には理解できません。東北地方で私のブログを見る人はいないとおもいますが、今は投稿する気分ではないのです。

今回ヴィジェ・ルブラン展も休館しているようです。
私は観に行く予定だったので残念です。
５月８日まで開催なので、それまでに東京に行けたらよいのですが

念願だった美術展なので実際にこの目で見てみたかったですね。
一日も早く被災地が復興するのと、関東地方の計画停電も中止になり普通の生活に戻れることを願うばかりです。

I found a site dedicated to Vigee Lebrun several yeas ago and challenged to translate her famous Souvenir(Memoir in English) . It was so challenging. My translation was least successful in that I could not transliterate French and Russian name, place, and titles.

I believe that you can translate with sucess, because you have mank knowledges on european art, Mme Le Brun and that you have a very good linguistic talent. Je vous souhaite un bon courage! In korean, Elsabeth Vigée le Brun is pronounced as "엘리자베트 비제 르 브랑". For me, russian names are really difficult to pronounce. When I translate french books, I had some difficulties to write into korean russian names, eastern and northern european names especially.

Oh, you found the site of Tokugawa art museum. Nagoya is not attractive sightseeing spot. And least popular to Nagoya people. Her cityscape is full with white buildings and least greenery.So boring.

But 徳川美術館 is the only cultural spot that deserves visiting. 徳川 family has three cadet branches. Nagoya is one of them, supposedly the most wealthy and prestigious one.

After Meiji Restoration, Samurai caste was abolished. Samurai lost their fief granted by Tokugawa shougunate goverment.

Even top-ranking feudal lords could not live without selling their hereditary properties. Nagoya-Tokugawa may be exceptional. They tried to conserve their collection with success. 徳川美術館 houses several historically significant items, one of which was designated National Treasure.

Second to 源氏物語絵巻, 千代姫の雛人形 is also famous for its gorgeousness, which witnesses supreme craftmanship in Edo era.

Tokugawa Iemitsu 徳川家光 the third shogun married his daughter 千代姫 to the heir of Nagoya Tokugawa at age 3. She weded so young that she moved with her yoys, very interesting and artistic.

Unfortunately you cannot see her 雛人形 in the site, but other princesses 雛人形s now on diplay in the museum.

Yes, I am a Sumo fan if not enthusiastic. I am also 春日王(from Seoul)'s fan who is well-behaved and well known for devoutness to his mother.

I have never known “A Matter of Size" , very interesting. Now, people feel inferiority complex to obesity and go to fitness-club. Fat men should challenge Sumo. Sumo is very tough sport, but not so painful as fitness. They can be proud of great body in the Sumo world.

We have a long tradition of Woman Sumo 女相撲. Woman Sumo were popular attraction of festival till the edo era. Woman wresler wore nothing but loincloth, just like their male counterpart. No discrimination by sex.

But after the Meiji Restoration, Woman Sumo was so embarassing to foreigners eye. The Government ordered that women wear not only loincloths but also undershirts and drawers.

I heard that 58 large scale Ichimatsu dolls were sent to USA as gestures of good will and of friendship with USA. 春日王 is now in Minor League(十両). His wrestling style is so Korean. He is handicapped. If he was an ethnic Korean and free from Korean wrestling, he would be very promising.
