エミリー判事が裁判で張り切っている。法廷用語らしき言葉が登場するが、私には苦手である。

タトゥー ―― ウォリス・スティーブンス

訳は簡単である。「タトゥー」という題で引けてしまう。それはさておき、光線は瞼と水と雪を射す。線を結べばウェッブが出来るから、光はクモである。クモが作る巣は空間にタトゥーを施したようではある。

Tattoo

The light is like a spider.
It crawls over the water.
It crawls over the edges of the snow.
It crawls under your eyelids
And spreads its webs there--

The webs of your eyes

To the flesh and bones of you
