窓 その一 丘の上で テニスン

昨日訳した「春」はサリヴァンの歌曲集「窓」に含まれている。作詩はテニスンである。テニスンは「ミソサザイの歌」と題し全部で１２編の詩を書いたが、サリヴァンが付曲したのは１１曲である。昨日サリヴァンの「窓」をウェッブ上で見つけたので、順番に訳していこうかと思う。テニスンは作品として完成度の高い読むための詩というよりは、歌唱可能な詩を心がけたのだろう。いつもの技巧が見られない。各行の音節数もまちまちであるし、無韻詩である。

単純な今日の詩も日本語訳には苦労した。やはり難しかったが、とりあえず投稿することにした。

down on the plain

光る窓か？
朝の風は目覚める。

雲が立ち昇り

向かう所は
恋しい女の家。
みなは向かうが
僕は斜面に立ったまま！

僕は急いで追いかける。
