フランクのバイオリン・ソナタは私の好きな曲であり、何枚もCDを持っている。この曲に限り、私のCDと一致する演奏家をYouTubeで見つけられなかった。

 

今日は独創者も伴奏者も全く知らなかった二人、バイオリンのRenaud Capuçon(ルノー・カピュソン1976年 - ）、ピアノ伴奏はKhatiaBuniatishvili (カーチャ・ブニアティシヴィリ 1987 -  )のフランクのバイオリン・ソナタの第一楽章をシェアした。

 

ルノー・カピュソンはフランス人で、カーチャ・ブニアティシヴィリはグルジア人である。

The Wind begun to rock the Grass

With threatening Tunes and low --

He threw a Menace at the Earth --

A Menace at the Sky.

 

The Leaves unhooked themselves from Trees--

And started all abroad

The Dust did scoop itself like Hands

And threw away the Road.

 

The Wagons quickened on the Streets--

The Thunder hurried slow --

The Lightning showed a Yellow Beak

And then a livid Claw.

 

The Birds put up the Bars to Nests --

The Cattle fled to Barns --

There came one drop of Giant Rain

And then as if the Hands

 

That held the Dams had parted hold

The Waters Wrecked the Sky,

But overlooked my Father's House --

Just quartering a Tree –

牛は小屋に逃げた――

大雨の一滴が落ちた――

ダムを堰き止めた

 

手で保ちきれないのか

空は水浸しだが、

父の家は見逃されて――

樹一本だけ八つ裂き――
