山羊座の人の性格

Then he is profound in Imagination, in his Acts severe, in his words reserved, in speaking and giving very spare, in labour patient, in arguing or disputing grave, in obtaining the goods of this life studious and solicitous, in all manners austerer.

* 星がよく作用したとき、

山羊座の人は想像力において深く、行動において厳格である。言葉は慎重で、会話や贈与において倹約的である。仕事ぶりは忍耐強く、発言や議論は真面目であり、生活の糧を得るときには勤勉かつ細心である。振る舞いはすべて禁欲的である。


* When ill

Then he is envious, covetous, jealous and mistrustful, timorous, sordid, outwardly dissembling, sluggish, suspicious, stubborrne, a contemner of women, a close lyar, malicious, murmuring, never contented, ever repinning.

* 星がわるく作用したとき、

山羊座の人は他人の幸福を羨み、欲が深く、嫉妬心が強く、人を信じない、気が小さく、利己的であり、本心を明かさない。反応が遅く、疑い深く、頑固で、女を軽蔑し、親しげに嘘をつき、悪意がある。ブツブツ言い、決して満足することなく、不平ばかり言う。

射手座の人の性格

Then he is Magnanimous, Faithfull, Bashfull Aspiring in an honorable way at high matters, in all his action a Lover of faire Dealing, desiring to benefit all men, doing Glorious things, Honorable and Religious, of sweet and affable Conversation, wonderfully indulgent to his Wife and Children, reverencing Aged men, a great Reliever of the Poore, full of Charity and Goodliness, Liberal, hating Sordid actions, Just, Wise, Prudent, Thankfull, Vertuous: so that when you find Jupiter, the significater of any man in a Question, or Lord of his Ascendant in a Nativity and well dignified, you may judge him qualified as abovesaid.

星がうまく作用したときの態度と行動

その時、彼は度量が大きく、信頼でき、控えめである。志は高いが、手段は高潔である。彼の行動において、公正な取引を好み、すべての人を助けたいと願い、光栄ある事をなす。誠実にして信心深く、その会話は楽しく感じが良い。妻子にきわめて優しく、年長者を尊敬し、貧者の救済者であり、慈愛と善意に満ちている。寛大で、下劣な行為を憎み、公平で、賢明で、思慮深く、感謝の念を忘れず、徳がある。当の人物のしるしであり、誕生日の首座星である、木星が良く作用したとき、その人物を上記の性質を持つと判断してよい。

星が悪く作用したとき

木星がうまく作用しないとき、彼は世襲財産を蕩尽し、みすみす他人にだまし取られる。信仰心は偽善的であり、教条的である。彼は無知であり、不注意で、友人の愛にも感激しない。肥満して、無能である。交際下手であり、自分自身を他人より低く評価し、不必要に卑屈になる。

星がうまく作用した場合

武勲と不屈の勇気において他人が彼を上回ることを許さず、理性に従わず、大胆にして不動の信念を持ち、争いごとを好み、あらゆる名誉の獲得に挑戦する。勇敢であり、戦争とそれに関連する事を好み、自身をあらゆる危険にさらす。誰にも従わないか、完全に献身するかいずれかである。自身の行為を誇りをもって報告する。勝利に比較すればあらゆることは些細なことであるが、自分自身の事に関しては思慮深い一面がある。

星がうまく作用しなかった場合

この人は饒舌であり、謙譲と誠実さに欠ける。殺戮と紛争を好み、人を殺し、盗みをはたらく。扇動者であり、騒動をおこす。辻強盗になる。風向き次第で変わりやすく、裏切り者であり、不穏な性質を有し、偽証する。卑猥であり、無鉄砲で、非人間的である。神を恐れず、人を愛さず、感謝の念がなく、信頼できない。抑圧的であり、貪欲で、詐欺師であり、怒りっぽく、暴力的である。

星が良く作用したとき

金星が作用する場合、この星の人は物静かであり、法に触れることもなく、争いもせず、口やかましくもない。悪意がなく、愉快で、身だしなみもきちんとして清潔である。大食と いうよりは飲酒を好み、性愛におぼれる傾向があり、しばしば女難に巻き込まれ、色恋には夢中になる。音楽が好きで、風呂や観劇中はご機嫌である。すぐに人 の話に乗り、真面目に働いたり、つらい仕事をするには向かない。仲間は大事にし、陽気で、人を疑うことがなく、男でも女でも正しくて人徳があり、しばしば 嫉妬されるが、自分は他人を嫉妬しない。

星が悪く作用したとき

騒動を起こしやすく、贅沢で、だらしがなく、好色で女を連れ回す。自分の評判は気にしない。律法に背くベッドを好み、近親相姦、姦通を犯す。狂信的で、 おっちょこちょいで、信仰心がなく、名誉も信用もない；財産をビヤホール、居酒屋で、評判の悪い、だらしのない連中と一緒に蕩尽する。怠惰な連れにすぎな い。この世のこともあの世のことも一切気にしない。神を信じず、動物的である。


文中にあるSheeは Sheの古い綴りである。惑星で唯一女性である金星すなわちヴィーナスである。１７世紀には惑星は７つしかなかったので、惑星によって人格が決まるとした占星術によれば、７通りの人格しかない。ビーナスに支配される人の人格は１７世紀の占星術師によれば牡牛座と同じである。 天秤座の人は公平であり、裁判官になれば公平な裁きをするという占いが出ても良さそうであるが、そうではない。

Being well dignified, he represents a man of a subtill and politick braine, intellect, and cogitation; an exellnt disputant or Logician, arguing with learning and discretion, and using much eloquence in his speech, a searcher into all kinds of Mysteries and Learning, sharp and witty, learning almost any thing without a Teacher; ambitious of being exquisite in every Science, desirous naturally of travell and seeing foreign parts: a man of an unwearied fancie, curious in the search of any occult knowledge; able by his owne Genius to produce wonders; given to Divination and the more secret knowledge; if he turne Merchant no man exceeds him in way of Trade or invention of new ways whereby to obtain wealth.

うまく作用したとき

星がうまく作用すると、洗練された政治的頭脳、知性および認識のある人物の代表例となる。論争に卓越し、論理的である。議論は学問と分別に基づいている。発言は雄弁であり、あらゆる神秘と学問を探求し、鋭く、機知に富む、学問は師がなくてもほとんどすべてを修得し、すべての科学に卓越せんとする野心があり、天性外国を旅し見聞することが好きであり、あむことなき想像力の持ち主であり、神秘的知識の探求に興味があり、不思議な物を作り出す天分がある。占いや秘密の知識に長けている。商人になれば取り引きや富を生み出すことで彼に匹敵する人はいないであろう。

A trouble some wit, a kinde of Phrenetick man, his tongue and Pen against every man, wholly bent to foole his estate and time in prating and trying nice conclusion to no purpose; a great lyar, boaster, pratler, busybody, false, a tale-carrier, given to wicked Arts, as Necromancy, and such like ungodly knowledges; easie of beleefe, an asse or very ideot, constant in no place or opinion, cheating and theeving every where ;a trfler; a meere frantick fellow; if he prove a Divine, then a meer verball fellow, frothy, of no judgement, easily pervated, constant in nothing but idle words and bragging.

うまく作用しなかったとき

何かともめ事を起こし、ある種狂気の人であり、すべての人を舌とペンで攻撃する。自分の資産と時間を無駄話に費やし、意味もない都合のいい結論を出そうとする。大嘘つきであり、ほら吹きであり、おしゃべりであり、お節介で、虚偽のことをいい、一人しゃべりする。悪魔の術とか神に背く知識のように悪の技術には長ける。すぐに信じ、愚かである。立場と意見が定まることなく、軽薄ですぐに熱狂する。占って見せても、判断力に欠ける、浅薄な言葉だけの人間である。すぐに人に影響され、いつも無駄口をたたき、自慢話をする。


乙女座の方は失望されたかと思う。私も失望した。この人格は双子座の性格の文章とまったく同じである。

私の種本である　The English Year によれば、この占星術は１６４７年に出版されたウィリアム・リリーの Christian Astorology の引用である。リリーの時代の占星術は、太陽、月、その他の惑星　木星、火星、水星、土星、金星によって支配されていると考えていたそうである。別格としては、獅子座が太陽、蟹座が月によって支配されている。のこる星の方は５つの星で説明される。

残りの星の方の性格はもうすでに書かれている。古いのが唯一の特徴である私のブログではありうることである。
