Thanks to Mr. Ito, I think I may finally have some photographs ready!
Anyway, here is some food from Laos.
The food is kind of a combination Vietnamese/Thai/Chinese, so isn't really unusual.
Of course, they do eat some things that you or I probably would not (grilled rat on a skewer...yakinezumi??!!).
The first photo is BUFFALO SAUSAGE.
We ate this on our first night in LUANG PRABANG.
It was served like an appetizer and was quite delicious.
It was a bit spicy and a little dry.
The taste of buffalo wasn't that strong, but it was obvious that it wasn't beef.
The second photo is a GRILLED FISH (surprise!!).
It was quite large and very tasty!
It was seasoned with salt and then grilled over a fire.
The fish comes from the Mekong River and is quite plentiful, though I don't know the name.
The meat was white and was served with some lime juice.
The third photo is of some raw BUFFALO MEAT and FAT.
It was kind of like eating yakiniku.
After cooking, you dip it in a sauce of your choice - from spicy to sour.
It was so good, we ate it on two different occasions!
The final photo is of LAO BBQ.
It's like a combination of yakiniku and nabe.
In the bowl on the outside, there was chicken broth, noodles, and a variety of vegetables. Like nabe, it is then dipped into a sauce of your choice.
The top part is GRILLED BUFFALO, as mentioned above.

I am interested in raw Buffalo and fat. And the fourth pic looks like gingiskan-nabe.

I would probably enjoy all these food as well; they look delicious. Though I have never had Baffalo, there are Baffalo menues in some restraunts here in Colorado. Yakinezumi?? hahaha....sounds gross but the naming is funny.

The buffalo was good. In Canada, you can get BISON BURGERS at some supermarkets, though I've never had it. We didn't eat the buffalo raw; I put that picture just to show what it looked like. I'm not sure if it's safe to eat raw.
