「ところで、あれはまだ確定じゃなかったんだな〜♬」
という情報は流れてなさそうだ。

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan said Wednesday Japanese visitors will be allowed to enter the central Asian country without visas from April next year.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who won Sunday’s presidential election, signed a presidential decree to allow nationals of Japan and 14 other countries to stay visa-free in the nation for up to 30 days.

Uzbekistan has a number of Silk Road artifacts, including the ruins of a Buddhist temple where famous Chinese monk Xuanzang, called Genjo in Japan, is said to have stayed on his long pilgrimage to India in the seventh century.

After becoming independent from the then-Soviet Union in 1991, Uzbekistan started cooperating with Japanese and other foreign research teams to push forward archaeological excavation projects.

The visa-free treatment for citizens of the 15 countries, also including 10 European nations, such as Britain, Germany and Italy, plus Australia, South Korea, Singapore and Canada, will certainly help Uzbekistan promote its tourism industry, Mirziyoyev said.
