1/19/09(月）Martin Luther King Jr'Day なのにお仕事でした。 外はすっかり雪景色なので、ちょっと早めに出て、車の雪払いなどをして7時15分には駅に着きました。ところが、なんと電車が来ない。いつの間にか電車はホリデー・スケジュールとなっていて銀行と一緒。一時間に一本なので、次は8時02分。一瞬、がっかりしましたが、直ぐに気分転換できました。 たまたま、出掛けにＰ＆Ｓのカメラをバッグに入れていたので、寒さに負けずちょっと歩き回って撮影。とっても美しい雪景色を鑑賞して心豊かになりました。ちょっとしたら日が昇ってきて、雪が金色に輝きはじめました。まさに、30分のマジック・アワーを満喫。災い転じて福となすとはこのこと。 明日はオバマの就任式です。アメリカは今泥沼ですが、オバマ大統領の誕生は国民に多くの希望と一体感を与え、歴史的なイベントとして後々までかたりつがれるでしょう。 これからが大変。Let's go...

1月10日（土） 週末なのに早起きをしてしまいました。 予報では雪となっていたので、以外な朝焼け空に感激。 ビーチまで行く余裕がなかったので、近所の池に行ってみました。。 日の出の方向には、残念ながら電線がたくさんあって...。 この後15分くらい素敵な空が見えたのですが、太陽は瞬く間に雲の中に隠れて、10：00ＡＭには雪が降り出しました。 なんか暗い冬の一日ですが、こんな朝焼けで始まった日なんです。

2009 has begun. Somehow my PC is not responging to Japanese language again. It snowed quite a bit here in NY yesterday. Although it didn't accumulate, it's been very cold. So I slept well and woke up after the sun had gone high up there. Instead the sunrise I went out to capture the first sunset for the year. At first I thought the sky was uninteresting but later clouds came out and it got a bit more interesting. It was very windy and cold in the park. I forgot to take my scarf and fur hat with me and I got frozen so quickly. After several shootings my fingers became really cold and I couldn't keep shooting any longer. Therefore I went back to the car and waited for the further sun down. I saw that there was a SUV driving around in the park circling again and again. It looked like someone was teaching a teenage-girl how to drive. Then a police car came around and went away. I thought the police would say something to the people in the SUV but nothing happend. When the sun started going down, I got out the car and started shooting the sunset. Then the police car came at me stragight ahead and stopped. Yea!!! I was questioned what I was shooting and had submit my driver's licence. My new telephoto lens looks so obvious but it cannot spy the airport! In anyway he took down my information and I had to show the images on my camera. He said he had never seen a camera like mine. Well, he hasn't seen too many DSLR, may be.

2008年も残すところあと一日。 クリスマスが終わるとなんとなくしらけた感じのアメリカです。特に今年のホリデーは道行く家並み飾りつけもまばら。 初めて異国で過ごした年末は、（随分昔のことですが、）とてもあっけない寂しいものでした。 いまでは慣れっこになって、今年の年末日連休が不思議に思えるほどですが...。 ちょっと歩き足りなかったかなぁ〜。その代わり、一眼レフに変わりフォトグラフィーの腕はすこしは上がったかしら。 あっという間に過ぎてしまった一年。忙しいながら、無事に過ごせたことに感謝です。 Wish everyone a happy healthy new year! Best,

寒い日が続いているＮＹです。 金曜日に降った雪の上に雨が降り、当たりはスケート場のように凍り付いています。 あれこれ忙しく用事を済ませるともう夕暮れ。結局この週末はお出かけなしでした。おかげで、外食代と映画代がセーブできました！ニコッ！ 夕方の公園には人っ子一人いませんでした。寒かったです。東海岸には大変なSnowstormが来ているとか。なんか、フロリダに行きたい気分です。
