There lived many people under B-29s, and they lost their life after these bombing.

  

  

  

We Japanese now are forgetting those days, but have a story of a girl named “Chii-chan”, which is read by Japanese pupils at the schools.

◆ 横浜大空襲
１９４５年５月２９日午前９時２０分ごろから約１時間、米軍のＢ２９爆撃機５１７機が横浜市の中、南、西、神奈川区を中心に無差別爆撃。計約２５７０トンの焼夷弾を投下し、市中心部は焦土と化した。県のまとめでは犠牲者は３６５０人だが、実際は８千人以上とも推測される。
