チェルシーの試合のYTから would have done/should have done の勉強です。 難しく言うと仮定法過去完了 Subjective Past Perfect ってやつですが、if— (条件節)がないパターン。こちらのほうがよく登場します。
チェルシーのアザールが、時間稼ぎをするボールボーイを蹴ってボールを取るシーンです。
アザールはこれで一発退場になりました。
で、このYoutubeへのコメントがこれ。ゲーム遅延とこの痛がりようが不評なんですね。 ほとんどのコメントがアザール擁護です。
- アザールは、渾身の力でこのガキの頭を蹴るべきだった。 過去の事実の反対を仮定する場合に使われ、実際は~しなかったので~できなかった という意味を含んでいます。
should have は会話では シュダブ またはシュダ くらいにしか聞こえないので注意です。 あと kick 人 in the head も重要な熟語です。
Swanseaの方も大事にすると恥ずかしいと思ったのかHPではこの件は大きく取り上げてません。

たんなる日曜朝の雑談ですが・・。
今日はロンドンダービーがあって楽しみです。チェルシーvsアーセナル
大鵬 とかいう相撲取りが亡くなりましたが、うーん、全然記憶がない。
最近、俳優やら映画監督やら有名人で亡くなる方が増えている気がしますが、ともかく現役時代をまったく知らないので何の感銘もないです。
一つ言えることは、今後
毎日のように有名人が死んで死亡ニュースがやたら増えるだろう ということです。1960年以降TVが普及して有名人自体が増えたってこと、そしてそれが高齢になってきているというのが背景です。 ほんとにそうなってきたころ、この記事を思い出してください。

When I left UK after I lived there for 4 year, I sent a farewell letter to my friends. As I didn’t want to send a letter only with cliché, I attached to the letter a note, listing the 10 surprises which I felt during the period. The letter actually went over pretty well.
