After the March 11, 2011 nuclear disaster, about 300,000 children have been living in Fukushima in radioactive
environment. 35.8% of them have developed thyroid cysts, 30 of them had their thyroid removed from cancer. Fukushima
Kids Hawaii invites the children from Fukushima to Kona every summer and winter so that they can eat and play without
fear of radiation. We also have opened a shelter in Kona for babies and mothers from Fukushima all year round.
All of these become possible with your support. We are grateful for your participation and contribution.
