宮内庁によると、表敬は約５０分間で、うち２０分は眞子さまと国王夫妻のみで歓談された。眞子さまは「日本とブータン王国の友好関係がますます進むことを希望します」との天皇陛下のメッセージを伝えられた。続いて、国王夫妻と昼食をともにされた。
その後、ティンプー中心部で開催された「日本週間」の開幕イベントをご鑑賞。宿泊先のホテルでの開幕式典では英語であいさつし、国王が震災直後に１００万ドルの義援金を日本に送ったことなどを踏まえ、「ブータンの皆さまから温かいご支援をいただきました」と謝意を伝えられた。
