Let’s take head covering for example, seeing as it was one of the points you mentioned. You are right, head covering is as clear as day in the Scriptures. But the head covering in and of itself is not the truth in 1 Cor 11, the head covering is a SYMBOL for the truth. And yet, here again we put the cart before the horse in making the head covering almost a hallowed object, or dare I say even a holy sacrament! The real truth behind the head covering being taught is Headship and ultimately Lordship. And if this truth, LORDSHIP, is not clearly taught and understood BEFORE head covering is introduced, people won’t understand why they are wearing a head covering, and in turn will not value it or internalize its importance.
