Facebookにのっていた、集会の問題点を指摘した北米の集会の姉妹からその集会で学んだ人に対する手紙の本文の続きです。 However, we young people are growing intolerant of the high horse position assemblies hold towards other believers, and the obvious lack of balance between grace and truth, and I fear we may soon lose more of our young people as a result. We are hoity toity about our Bible knowledge, but often fail inputting the basics into practice. Sometimes I catch a glimpse of the proud Pharisee (an assembly goer) in the temple, praying about how thankful he is that “I do this, and I do that, and I thank God I am not like that, blah, blah, blah.” But in comes a humble, smitten publican (a Baptist or other denomination goer) who will not even lift up his head to heaven, but in the genuineness of his soul prays to God for mercy. It is he who goes away justified, not the Pharisee. You know, we might get a lot of surprises on the other side of eternity, thinking because we were in the assembly and crossed all our t’s and dotted all our i’s, that we were the more spiritual ones. But in fact, we might be some of the greatest losers due to our pride and lack of Christ-like character and care for our young.
