第2回は、1930年代です。
この時代は、要約海外からの宣教師も大勢到着しはじめ、戦前の
活動が活発化し始めた時代のようです。
東京に続き、神戸、大阪と集会ができはじめ、伝道出版社の活動も
始まります。北本さん、藤本さんという日本人巡回伝道者の活動が
始まった時期ですが、戦争への足音が聞こえる時代でもあります。

1930年代は、最初のイングランドの集会から推薦された
宣教師(ヘイ兄姉）が到着した年である。ヘイさんご夫妻
は、神戸に住居を構え、言葉の勉強とこの地域での最初の
集会を始めた。
ライト兄は、この年神戸での薬剤師としての仕事を得て、
神戸にきたが、まもなく、言語の学習と主の奉仕のために
全精力を注力するため、仕事をやめた。
この時期、最初の目だった転向者(改心者)は、歯科医で
ある石濱医師であり、彼は神戸集会の指導的な立場に現在
もある(1960)。
北本氏は、すぐに専心伝道者の道に導かれ、日本のキリ
スト集会の中で最初の日本人伝道者となった。主に、大阪
地区での働きをし、大阪での証を1934年にはじめた。
最初から、ヘイ氏とライト氏は福音トラクトと薄手の書
物を印刷し、この働きはライト氏が東京に移ってから発展
した。
2番目の伝道者の藤本氏は、東京に導かれ、ライト氏と
ともに熱心に奉仕した。

1930 marked the arrival of the first missionaries commended from the assemblies
in England, Mr. and Mrs. T. Hay. They settled in Kobe where they commenced
language study and the first assembly in that area.
Mr. R. Wright also came out to Kobe in this same year taking up employ-
ment as chemist, but gave up his business soon after to concentrate all his
energies on language study and the Lord's work.
During this period the first outstanding convert was Dr. Ishihama, a dentist,
who remains the leading brother in the Kobe assembly today. Another brother,
Mr. Kitamoto, who soon led by the Lord into whole time service, and became the
first Japanese evangelist from among the assemblies. He worked mainly in the
Osaka area and a testimony was started there in 1934.
From the begining, Messrs Hay and Wright printed gospel tracts and booklets
and this work developed when Mr. Wright moved to Tokyo.
A second evangelist, Mr. Fujimoto, was led out into the work from Tokyo
and worked extensively with Mr. Wright.
Mr. Hewitt, commended from N. Ireland, joined the Tokyo witness in 1938.
Mr. and Mrs. Hay had removed to Formosa by this time.
