This is a picture and a munuscript of my presentation of "Duet of Road" by me and Shaip Emerllahu at Tetova in Macedonia on October 17,2015.

"Konnichiwa, Mir dita, Dobar den, Hello, Bonjour, Buon giorno, Hola, Bom dia, ,안녕하세요(annyon haseyoo), 你好(nii hao) ! I’m so happy to meet you from various countries all over the world.
.
Let me introduce myself to you. I am Taro Aizu from Japan. I have been writing haiku and gogyoshi in three languages, Japanese, English and French for five years. And then I have been publishing them in facebook for three years. As you know, haiku is very popular in the world now because haiku is very short poem written in three lines. But I think most of you don’t know gogyoshi well. “Gogyo” of gogyoshi means five lines in Japanese and “shi” means a poem in Japanese. So gogyoshi means a poem written in five lines. And it has no restriction with regard to syllables. As a conclusion, gogyoshi is a free verse written in five lines. I am a poet of both haiku and gogyoshi in Japan. OK?
.
Now, please take a look at this book titled “Duet of Roads”. This is a very new poetry book published recently in Japan. I’ll be referring to this book from now on. “Duet” means a musical performance by two players as you know and “Roads” mean the two roads of our poetic careers, in other words, poetic roads! This book includes poems by Shaip Emerllahu and haiku and gogyoshi by me. Mariko Sumikura edited it. She is a famous poet in Japan and she is a director of JUNPA.

.What is JUNPA? It means Japan Universal Poet Association. JUNPA has been publishing as a series of Duets by two poets, one from Japan, one from another country. For example, “Duet of Time” “Duet of Wind” “Duet of Life” and so on. We have published 12 poetry books so far. We titled this series “Western-Eastern Poets in Sympathy : Poetic Dialogue”. This year I, as an eastern poet published “Duet of Roads” with Shaip Emerllahu, as a western poet. So this is a Poetic Dialogue by a western poet and an eastern poet. OK?
.
This book is composed of two chapters. The first chapter is written in Japanese and the second in English. Look at the first chapter. Many poems by Shaip are translated into Japanese by Mariko. Of course, she translated his English version into Japanese as we can’t understand Macedonian or Albanian language. She translated his poems titled “Dead End” and “My generation” into Japanese. This is the first Albanian poetry book in Japan and will introduce Albanian poems to Japanese people from now on.
I am going to read the first poem of “Dead end” in Japanese here only a bit.
.

.This poem is very poignant but very moving and touching!

.The next is about my poem. I cited many gogyoshi from “ Waga Fukushima My Fukushima Mon Fukushima” which I published in three languages, Japanese, English and French in Japan last year. Look at this book. Many Facebook friends all over the world helped me with the English version, French version and 20 other translations. In particular, Jagotka Tomovska translated it into Macedonian last year. But I have no Albanian version now. But yesterday Jeton told me he would translate it into Albanian!
I cited many gogyoshi from the poetry book. Here I’m going to read one of them in Japanese. This has a title because we can add a title to gogyoshi. Maybe you will enjoy the sounds of Japanese gogyoshi from now on..
.
.
Have you enjoyed the Japanese sounds? OK,Good!
If I keep on reading it longer in Japanese, you will be very bored and tired. So I stop it here.
.
Now, I’m going to explain the second chapter. This is written in English. Most of you can understand all poems of the second chapter. Mariko cited many poems from “My Generation” by Shaip Emerllahu. I’m going to introduce one of them in English here. The title is “The Apples of Tetova”.
.
Through the concerted centuries
Tetova pruned and watered
Its own apple trees
.
Like rock salt
You’ll want to burst
When you spot them turned rotten
From maggots
.
In the end
They’ve eaten so much
Their teeth went numb.
.
This poem has a symbolic meaning. Very deep and touching!
The next is my haibun. What is haibun? It’s haiku mixed with a short prose. Only haiku is difficult for readers to understand well as it’s very short. For example, I’m going to cite one haiku without a short prose from the second chapter.
.
A daffodil blooms
In the deserted garden –
Silent energy
.
Have you understood this haiku well? What is “the deserted garden”? What is “silent energy”?
Now I’ll add a short prose to the haiku and read the whole.
March came again. But there were no people living near Fukushima Nuclear Plant. I walked around a house broken by the tsunami and saw something yellow in the debris.
.
A daffodil blooms
In the deserted garden –
Silent energy
.
This is not haiku but haibun. Haibun is easier for many readers to understand because I added an explanation before haiku. I included many haibun in the book so that foreign readers could understand better the miserable disasters of Fukushima Nuclear Plant accident. I recommend you to write haibun rather than haiku because you can convey your feelings and thoughts to readers.
.
Finally I added author's profile and photos at the last page.
This is my explanation about “Duet of Roads” by Shaip Emerllahu and Taro Aizu. You can buy the book by amazon.com and amazon kindle now.
.

It was very surprising to me! Unbelievable!

                         「My Fukushima」展示会

                              East meets West

About 100 artists in 13 countries
                       read my gogyoshi of Fukushima,
drew their pictures inspired by the poem
and sent them to a museum in Korea.
The exhibition will open on August 18.

Gogyoshi of Takizakura in full bloom in Fukushima now !
.
.

.
Takizakura
.
May Takizakura
live 1,000 years more
and rise in full bloom
at Fukushima
every spring.

.
Song
.
We’ll sing a song
and dance again
around Takizakura
in our hometown
Fukushima, Fukushima.
.

.
Takizakura
.
Que le Takizakura
vive plus de mille ans
et se dresse en pleine floraison
à Fukushima
chaque printemps.

.
Une Chanson
.
Nous chanterons une chanson
et danserons encore
autour du Takizakura
dans notre ville natale,
Fukushima, Fukushima.

Gogyoshi to my beloved dog, Moumin!

Gogyoshi in three languages dedicated to Moumin!
Gogyoshi en trois langues d??di?? ?? Moumin !

    Spring

A cherry blossom
falls silently
onto the back
of our dog
sleeping soundly

    Summer

While being washed,
suddenly
my dog shakes
a vibrant splash
against summer light

    Autumn

At dawn
no one has come yet
to the wide lawn.
I release my dog
from his collar

     Winter

Closer and closer
As I come to my house
in the cold night,
I hear my dog barking
louder and louder

    Le printemps

Un p??tale
de cerisier
tombe sur le dos
de mon chien
qui dort profond??ment

      L'??t??

Quand je lave mon chien
tout ?? coup
il ??clabousse
de mille gouttes
la lumi??re d'??t??

     L'automne

?? l'aube
personne n’est venu encore
sur cette grande pelouse.
je lib??re mon chien
de son collier

      L'hiver

De plus en plus pr??s
quand je m’approche de ma maison
dans la nuit froide,
j’entends mon chien aboyer
de plus en plus fort

.
.Haiku of my beloved dog : Moumin!

1.

On my way home
I bought a diaper for my dog-
cherry blossoms.

2.

I make a quilt
down bed for my dog -
cold spring.

3.

I hope my dog
will drink water in bed-
cherry blossoms.

4

I wipe
my bedridden dog
with a towel.

5

My bedridden dog
stands up at last-
spring morning.

6

My beloved dog
is bedridden again
all day long.

7

I close
open eyes of my dog-
the deathbed.

8

Moumin departed here
in full bloom of cherry blossoms-
my lawn garden.
