CouchSurfing with Thibault @Nantes/ナントのThibault宅でカウチサーフィン

23日、起きたらというか、また起こされたら10時だった。また朝食逃した。
とにかく、パッキングをしてホステルを出発。今日はナントに向かう。そこで、初体験のことが待っている。
それはカウチサーフィン。カウチサーフィンとは、無料で宿を提供してくれる人達が登録しているウェブサイトで、泊めてくれないか聞いて、OKが出たら彼らの提供する場所、カウチ、で無料で泊まれることができるシステムだ。
宿代がかからないというメリットのほか、地元に住んでいる人たちに会えるし、彼らから色んな話を聞くことができる。
この旅の途中で初めて知ったが、このアイデアが面白くてずっと試したかったが、いつも直前まで行く場所を決めなかったのでなかなかチャンスが無かったが、今回どうにか成功した。

さて、ナントに着いてから彼が教えてくれた行き方に従い、彼の家に到着。ノックをするとすぐに出た。到着したのが、午後7時を回ってたため彼の仕事が終わって帰宅するほうが早かったようだ。
彼の名前はThibault。半年ほど南アメリカを旅して周った経験があり、ヒッチハイクの経験もあるので、話が聞きたかったのだ。ちょっと話をして、スーパーまでメシを買いに。
そして家に戻り、飲みながら色々話をする。途中、彼は他の友達に会う約束があったので、一度出て行った。俺も誘われたが、2日前からの風邪が治ってないので遠慮して、その日はゆっくり休むことにした。ちょっと寒さも感じてたので、とにかく暖かい飯を作って食べて、寝る準備をし、彼が帰ってきてからまた少し話をしてから寝た。

翌日は11時起床。彼はとっくに仕事に出かけてる。色々やってたら、出かけたのは1時を回ってた。
まずツーリストインフォに行き、何か見たり、食べたり、飲んだりで有名なものがないか聞き、名産の海産物を食べるため、カフェでランチを食うことに決定。適当に歩き回って入った店でランチメニューを頼んだ。
前菜、メイン、デザートで9.5ユーロなら安いのかな？他の店はデザートなしとかで8.5とかだから。
前菜は名産の海産物が色々入っていたが、メインは肉。肉がトロトロでほどける様な感覚だった。
ランチを堪能し、後の時間で街を色々見て周る。見た感じ、結構いい感じ。明日には出なくちゃいけないから、機会があったらまた来てもっとゆっくりしたいなぁ。
そして、最後に次の目的地のカウチサーフィンのお願いの返事の確認と、翌日のフライトの時間を調べるためにネットをして帰宅。
帰宅したら、9時を回ってた。
そして、昨日のようにThibaultと飲み、色々な話をして、夜遅くまで映画を見て寝た。

翌日、7時にThibaultの目覚ましを借りて起床。今日は10時半頃にフライトがあるので8時過ぎには出発しなくてはいけない。
色々とやることをやり、パッキングをして準備完了。そして8時過ぎ、半分寝てるThibaultにお礼とお別れを言い、出発した。
やっぱりホステルとは違った意味で面白い。風邪引いてなけりゃもっと楽しかっただろうなぁ。。できる限りはやるぞ！

さて、これでフランスはもうこの旅では来ないだろう。
さらば、フランス

23rd, when I wake up, or I should say awaken again, it was 10am already again. Again, I missed breakfast.
Anyway, pack stuff and left hostel. Today, moving to Nantes and there awaiting first thing I will do.
What awaiting me is CouchSurfing. CouchSurfing(CS) is the website that people are registering who offer accommodation for free. And ask them if I can ask free accommodation, and if they say OK, we can get a place to stay on their place, couch, by free.
Good thing is free accommodation and more we can meet a local people and can hear many story from them.
I heard about this during this travel and I liked the idea and wanted to try but I always made a decision where to go next just one day before to go so didn't have much chance to do but anyway, it's succeeded this time.

Well, after arriving @Nantes, follow the direction what he gave me and arrive his home. Knock the door, then he come out soon. Arriving around 7pm, so he came back home from the work earlier than me.
His name was Thibault. Has experience to travel around Soutn America for half a year and experience of hitchhike as well so I wanted to hear his story. Talk for a while, been to supermarket to buy some food.
And back his home, then drink and talk a lot. He left once to meet his friend. He invited me to come together, but I had a cold from 2 days ago and didn't cured yet so I didn't this time and took a rest. Felt little bit cold so made some hot meal and eat and then prepare to sleep. And then, he came back and talk a little again, then to sleep.

Next day, woke up @11am. He left earlier to his work. Do several stuff and left home around 1pm.
At first, to Tourist Info and ask something famous to see, eat, drink. And then, to cafe to eat some famous seafood. Walking around the city, and go into one cafe and ordered lunch meal.
9.5 euros for entree, main and dessert. Maybe it's cheap? Other cafes are 8.5 without dessert.
Entree has several seafood in the dish, but main was meat. Meat was boiled to a pulp and it's like came loosen.
Satisfy with the lunch and then walk around the town rest of time. Seems like it's nice but I have to go tomorrow so if I have another chance, I wanna come here again to relax.
And then, check the reply of couchsurf in next destination and check the time of flight next day, then back to home.
Back home around 9pm.
And, drink and talk with Thibault like last night and watch movie till midnight then to sleep.

Next day, woke up @7am by Thibault's alarm I borrowed. I have a flight around 10:30am today so I have to leave around 8am.
Did many staff, pack and set everything. And just after 8am, say thank you and good bye to Thibault doughy with sleep, then left.
It was different from hostel, but it's interesting, in different way. If I didn't catch a cold, I could enjoy more.. I'll do this again as much as I can!

Well, so this is the last time in France in this travel.

Brest/ブレスト

日曜日、今日はレンヌから一路ブレストに向かう。
電車で2時間チョイの移動。そして到着次第、地図を見つけてそれに従いツーリストインフォに行ってみる。が、思ったとおりやはり休み。日曜なので。確か開いてるとレンヌで言われた気がしたんだが、多分土曜日のことだったんだろう。忘れることがおおいなぁ。とにかく、このままだとホステルへの行き方が分からない。仕方ない、マックを探そう。期待薄だがメールが返ってきてないか確認だ。
そしてメールをチェックすると、やはり返事はない。。さて、どうしたものか。昨日、ツーリストインフォからもらったメールだと5km程離れた場所らしいから、すぐには看板もないだろうし。ならばということで、住所からグーグルマップで地図を出し、ここからの行き方とホステル周辺の地図を探る。どうやら歩いても行けそうだ。
そして、バス停発見。バス停の地図で確認すると、バスがホステルのすぐそばまで通ってる。おっし、これに乗ろう！
で、バスに乗り込む。どのバス停で降りればいいかも分かってるし、何個バス停があるかも分かってるから楽だ。
そして、一番近いバス停でバスを降りる。そこには海岸線沿いにビーチと（寒いから泳げないけどね）ヨットがズラリ。こりゃあ、散歩に良さそうだ。
そしたら看板発見。すぐに着いた。
受付で聞いてみると、予約が取れている。。またか。。頼むから返事してくれ。
そして荷物を置き、市街に出るか迷ってたが、ツーリストインフォも開いてないし、地図もないしでどこみればいいかわからんし、それなら近くのビーチとかの散歩の方が気持ち良さそうだ、ということで、その日はノンビリすることに。Wi-Fiも飛んでいたのでメールチェック等して、夕飯の食材の買い物がてら散歩に。
海岸線に沿って歩いていると、本当にヨットが多い。そして、散歩してる人も。週末にここに来てる人達かな？それにしてもヨット乗りたいなぁ。
ビーチに沿って散歩したらまた違うだろうなぁ。後で、行ってみよ。
そして、小さなお店でトマトを買うが、高い。そして、そこで買い物をしてるとF1がラジオから。そう、今日はF1のブラジルGP。まぁ、これについては別途書こう。
とにかく、ホステルに戻ってからF1を見て気分のいいまま就寝。

翌日、起きてみるとというか、起こされると10時。やべ、朝食逃した！
とにかく、すぐに市街まで出かける。まずはツーリストインフォで、地図をもらい、どこがいいか教えてもらい、あとはそれに沿ってぶらぶら歩き回るだけ。
でも、問題が一つ。寒い。風が冷たくて、今着てるのだとダメだ。天気も良くならなそうだし。行きたいところが開くのが1時半で、開くまでに1時間半ほどあるので、寒さに負けホステルまで服を取りにだけ戻り、メールをチェックし、再度出発。
そして、城に行ってみるとまあまあでかい。中は海軍の歴史博物館になっていて、それをゆっくり見て周ってたら、閉館時間の6時半が迫ってきた。ちょっとペースを上げて見て周り、どうにか終了。
さて、他になんか特別見たいところはないし、あっても市外で、ホステルより更に先だから今回はムリ、ということで諦めてスーパーで足りない食材だけ買って、バスに乗りホステルに戻る。
そして、夕食後位から異変が。
喉が痛い。風邪引きかけか？やっぱ、今日のあの寒さが堪えたなぁ。着替えたものの、遅かったか。。
こんな状態なら、やっぱりビーチの散歩とかはできないなぁ、ということで断念。

そして、またもや夜更かしをしてしまい就寝。5時くらいか？目覚まし借りたけど起きれるかな。。

On Sunday, I head for Brest from Rennes today.
Takes 2hrs by train. After arriving, find map and follow it to Tourist Info, but as I thought it was closed because it was Sunday. I thought I've heard it's open in Rennes, maybe they were talking about Saturday. Just remember incorrectly. Anyway, I don't know how to get hostel now so let's find MacDonald. So, I can check e-mail if hostel replied. I don't think so..
Then, check e-mail but no reply as I thought. Well well, what I ganna do. According to the e-mail from Tourist info I've got yesterday, it is located 5km away from center so I maybe can't find any sign soon. Alright then, check google maps by address and find how to get there from here and map around hostel. Seems like possible by foot.
Walk toward hostel, I've found bus stop and check map at bus stop. And, found out bus is running to very close to hostel. OK, let'ss get it!
Then, get on the bus. I know which stop I should get off and how many stops from here. So, it's easy to go.
And, get off at the closest bus stop to the hostel. There, along the coast, there's beach (not for swimming anymore because it's too cold now) and many yacht. Seems like good for walking.
Then, find sign. And get there soon.
Asking reception and told me I have a reservation. Again? Why didn't you reply to me?
Leave backpack and wondering if it's better to go back to central, however, Tourist info was closed and I have no map. Maybe I'd better to walk around here along beach or coast. Then, decided to relax. They had Wi-fi so I check e-mail and so on, then go to walk and shop some food.
Walking along the coast, I saw lots of yacht. And, people who're walking. Maybe they come here only for weekend? Anyway, I'd love to on yacht!!
Maybe it would be another nice time if I walk along the beach. I will later.
And, shop tomate at small shop but expensive. And, while I'm shopping, heard F1 from raido. Yes, today is F1 Brazil GP. Well, I'll write about this in another articlel.
Anyway, after back to hostel, watch F1, then go to bed with pleasure.

Next day, when I woke up, or I can say when I was awaken, it was already 10. Bloody hell, I missed my breakfast!
Anyway, prepare everything and been to central soon. At first, get map @ Tourist info and ask them where is worth to visit, and just walk around the city following map and their recommendation.
But, there was one problem. It's cold!! Wind was really chilly and cannot endure clothes what I'm wearing now. Seems like weather wouldn't turn well.. The place where I wanna go will open 1 and half a hour as of and couldn't stand for the cold so go back to hostel to change my clothes and check e-mail and go to central again.
And then, been to chateau that's kind of big. Inside, they have a maritime museum and I looked around but clothing time, 6:30pm, getting close so pick up pace to look around, then somehow, I finished.
Well, there's nothing else I wanna go to see, well, there's one but it's in outskirts further than hostel so not this time. Well then, gave up and buy some food I need and take bus back to hostel.
And, there was one thing I feel wrong from after supper.
I have a sore throat. Maybe about to catch a cold? It was really chilly today. Changed clothes but too late..
With this condition, I can't go for a walk along the beach and gave up.

And, stay until late again then to sleep. Around 5am? I borrowed alarm but I wonder if I can wake up..

レンヌ/Rennes

I supposed to left Rennes to Brest on Saturday, however, I wasn't.

On Saturday, I first checked with Tourist info what I can see in short time. Then, to MacDonald to check e-mail from hostel in Brest, but no reply. So, I don't know how to get there.. Then, to train station what time I have to leave to go to Tourist office in Brest to ask how to go to hostel. They told me last train arriving around 5pm will leave 2pm. So, I had only short time.
Well then, I start to walk around the city by following the map I've got. Seems like it's impossible to go to all the attracation here, but Tourist info gave me advice which I should go. But, it wasn't enough.. So, I deccided to stay another 1 night in Rennes. So, I've got 1 day to walk around Rennes. Hope it will be enough.
Then, just follow the map I go to lot of churches, streets. Some churches are closed for lunch so I had to come back later. BTW, why churches in France are big? Even in this smaill city, has several big churches.
Rennes has several nice street and building in the old town. It's quite nice to walk around this old town. I like this kind. It's small city, but I can enjoy.
There's one park with abbey in this town. Sounds like little bit famous in France. Anyway, it was quite nice place to rest. Some flowers are in the garden. Some fountains. It was quite nice.
And, almost end of walking around of this town, I've been to St. Pierre church. It was quite nice one. Best in this town. All the walls and ceiling are full of painting!! Other churches are not painted. Only white. But this is different. And I liked it!! Well, I'm glad I could see this and not left to Brest by 2pm.

It was quite nice time to walk around this city even if it's small city.

土曜日はレンヌからブレストに移動予定、が行かなかった。

土曜日は、まず最初にツーリストインフォで、短時間で何が見れるか聞いて、マックに行ってブレストのホステルからメールが来てるかチェックしたが、返答がなかったので行き方がわからない。。そして駅でブレストのツーリストオフィスでどうやってホステルに行くか聞くために何時の電車に乗らなきゃいけないか聞いたところ、最低でも5時頃にブレストに着く、２時頃の電車とのこと。。やっぱ短いな。。
まぁとにかく、地図に従い歩き回り開始。ここでのメインのもの全部を周るのはムリそう。でも、ツーリストインフォがどれに行ったほうがいいかは教えてくれたしね。でも、少ない。。ということで、もう１晩レンヌに泊まる事に。歩き回りに１日あるから、充分でしょ。
そして、地図に沿ってたくさんの教会や通りを通る。いくつかの教会はお昼休みをとっていたので、後で戻らなきゃいけない。ところで、なんでフランスの教会はでかいのばっかなんだろう？こんな小さな街でも、大きな教会がいくつも。
レンヌは旧市街に歩き回りにはもってこいの通りがいくつもある。ホント、歩き周りにはいいね、旧市街は。こういうの好き。小さな街でもこういうのなら楽しめる。
レンヌには、修道院(?)に隣接した公園が一つある。どうやらフランスではまあまあ有名らしい。とにかく、そこはリラックスするのにもってこいの場所。庭には花が咲いてるし、噴水もある。いいねぇ。
そして、歩き回りも終わりに近づいた頃、聖ピエール教会に行った。ここは良かった。この街でのベスト。壁にも天井にも絵が描かれている！他の教会は単にシンプルな白だけ。でも、ここは違う。これ、イイ！。いやぁ〜、ブレストに２時の電車で行かないでこれ見れてヨカッタァ〜。

こんな小さな街でも歩き回ってよかったぁ〜。

モン・サン＝ミシェル

3日前、朝6時というのに他人の事を全く考えないルームメートの騒音で起こされた。ドミでは起こりうると知ってたが、今まではなかった。でも、ついに。。ドミとはいえ少しは他人の事考えられないのか？朝6時だぞ。。
でも10分程で出て行ったのでまた寝たが、今度は誰かが俺を呼んでいる。そう7時に起こしてくれと頼んであったのだ。
とにかく起きて、やる事やって朝食の後、パッキングしてチェックアウト。そう、モン・サン＝ミシェルに行くのでバックパックを置いていかなきゃ。
この木曜にモン・サン＝ミシェルに行くのは水曜まで考えていなかったが、ストが木曜にあるなら、いつもより人が少ないはず。モン・サン＝ミシェルに行く最高のタイミングでしょ！日本人も少ないだろうし。他の旅行者から70％は日本人って聞いてたから少ないといいなぁ。

チェックアウト後、街を歩きツーリストインフォでモン・サン＝ミシェル行きの一番安い方法を聞いてみるが、思ったとおりバスだった。そしてバスに揺られること1時間でモン・サン＝ミシェル到着。
おぉ、こりゃいいね。
到着後は、正面口から修道院に直行するが、(ここの)大通りでさえ、人がそこまで多くない。レストランも。やっぱストの日に来て良かったぁ。修道院までは坂道だらけだけど、そこまで長くないしモン・サン＝ミシェルは小さいから数時間で歩き回れそう。
修道院に着いて入ってみる。モン・サン＝ミシェル自体は修道院に沿って何度か拡張されており、100年戦争のときでも侵略を許さなかった歴史があるし、大戦の時でも他の建物のように破壊されなかった。また日本人のツアーから聞こえてきた情報によると修道院の中の教会は今は簡素だが、昔は天井画が一面に描かれていたらしい。
修道院の中を歩き回り、丘の上からの景色を堪能し、正面口まで戻った。
正面口にはツーリストインフォがある。来た時は閉まっていたが、昼休みだったのかな？そこで、ここで見逃せないものと宿情報を聞いてみると、宿はモン・サン＝ミシェルの近くに40ユーロから、モン・サン＝ミシェル内なら最低75ユーロからあるらしい。75はムリ。
そしてもう一つ、見逃せないものはオムレツだ。伝統的で大きいらしいと聞いていたので、そのオムレツの発祥として有名らしいレストランに行ってみると、オムレツとデザートで35ユーロ！！分かってはいたけど高っ！！でも逃したくないし、他でってのもやだしで食べることにした。午後3時半頃だっただろうか、レストランには客がいない。。俺が食ってる間、沢山の人がメニューをチェックしていたが、誰も入ってこない。やっぱ皆にも高すぎるんだろう。
さて、オムレツは思ってた程大きくはなかった。が、とってもフワフワ。そして、デザートと一緒にコーヒーが。ウエイターからのサービスだ。ラッキー。聞いてみれば、やっぱり人は少ないらしい。
オムレツを食った後は、2km離れた村まで宿の確保に歩き、確保できた。
そして、スーパーでちょっと食い物を買い、夕焼けを見ながら食べる用のサンドイッチを作るが、サンドイッチを作り終わった時点で午後6時半。日没まで45分。夕焼けを見るために再びモン・サン＝ミシェル
に向けて歩き出す。
モン・サン＝ミシェルへの途中、いい夕焼けがみれたが、方角の関係でモン・サン＝ミシェルと夕焼けをセットでは見れなかった。もうちょっと早ければ。。今度こそ！
そして、モン・サン＝ミシェルの周りを歩き回り、イイ色合いの空を見て、再度ホテルに戻った。

少し休んで、今度は夜景を見に行く。
途中、モン・サン＝ミシェルが川に映りこんでいるのを発見。これはイイ。でも、まずは中を見てこよう。行ってみるとまた通りにもレストランにもそんなに人は見当たらない。中を夜歩き回るのも良さそうだなぁ。これもまた今度だな！
そしてホテルに戻る途中、モン・サン＝ミシェルが川に映りこんでるのを見るベストポジションを探し、ついに見つけた！マジいい。。ここ見つけるのに30分位掛かったけど惜しくない。
満足してホテルに戻るが、途中もっと興奮することが。光が少ないから星がいっぱい見える。多分、今までで一番だろう。多分、これより綺麗なのがこの旅でみれるんだろうなぁ。

ホテルに戻ると11時頃。ワインを飲み、眠りにつく。

翌日、起きてみると既に10時15分。ホテルにはモーニングコールを5時半に頼んだがワインのせいで起きれなかったのだろう。ここに泊まった最大の理由は夕焼けと朝日が見たかったからだが、1つは見逃してしまった。
とにかくチェックアウト後、モン・サン＝ミシェルまで行く途中、昨日見つけた場所で景色を楽しみ、あとはモン・サン＝ミシェルの道という道全て、見つけられた限りは歩いてきた。そして、時間が。

午後3時15分、バスは出発した。バイバイ、モン・サン＝ミシェル。
でも、70％も日本人いなかったな。多分25％位かな？

Mont Saint-Michel

3days ago, I was awake by the noise roommate made. It was just 6am, but he didn't care others and not try to make noise smaller. I knew it happens in the dorm but it never happened by now. But it finally happened. Even it's dorm, but why can't you think about others a little more? It's only 6am..
Anyway, he left 10min later, then go back to sleep. But somebody call my name. Yes, it's wake up call system I asked them to wake me up at 7am.
Well, anyway I wake up and do some staff in the morning, pack everything and check out. Yes, I'm leaving to Mont Saint-Michel so I had to check out and leave backpack in the luggage room.
I hadn't think about to go to Mont Saint-Michel on this Thursday since Wednesday, but there's strike on Thursday so there won't be less people than usual, I thought. Maybe this would be the best time to go to Mont Saint-Michel!! Maybe less Japanese than usual too. From other tourist, I've heard 70% of them in there is Japanese.. So, I hope not so many..

After check out, walk around the city, ask at Tourist info about the best and the cheapest way to go to Mont Saint-Michel. As I expected, bus. Then take a bus for 1hr then arrived at Mont Saint-Michel.
Wow, it's nice.
After arriving, I just go directly to the abbey through main gate. Even in the main street, not so many and in the restaurant too. I maybe right to came here on the day of strike. To abbey, it's full of steep but not so long. Mont Saint-Michel is quite small so I can walk around in few hrs.
Arriving and go into the abbey. Mont Saint-Michel itself has been extended several times with abbey. And have a history haven't been invaded even during the 100 yrs war and wasn't destroyed by the WW like others. Inside church in the abbey was quite simple now, but hearing from other Japanese tourist group said, it was full of painting on the ceiling.
Walk around the abbey, enjoying the view from top of the hill, then go out and back to the main gate.
At main gate, Tourist info is open now. When I arrived, it was closed but maybe they were at lunch? And, ask them what I can't miss and accommodation. Accommodation, I can find cheap hotel near Mont Saint-Michel but outside of the wall around 40euros. In the wall, minimum will be 75euros.. I can't pay that..
And one more thing I can't miss is omelet here. Very traditional in here and little bit big I've heard. After Tourist Info, been to restaurant which is famous for the origin of the Omelet in here. Omelet and dessert cost 35euros!! I was expected but expensive... But I don't want to miss it and not other place, so I decided to take it. It was around 3:30pm, but there was nobody in the restaurant.. While I'm eating, lot of people check the menu but maybe it's too expensive for others too. Nobody came in.
Well, omelet was not so huge as I expected but really fluffy. And with dessert coffee came. It was service from the waiter. Lucky. Accodring to him, as I thought it's really not so many people on that day.
After omelet, I've walked to the village 2km away from Mont Saint-Michel to confirm accommodation and I've got one.
Then, go to supermarket to buy some food. Then, prepare sandwich for tonight to eat while seeing sunset. But when I finish making sandwich, it was already 18:30. Only 45min till sunset. Then, walk to Mont Saint-Michel again to see with sunset.
On the way to Mont Saint-Michel, I could see sunset but because of it's direction, I couldn't see Mont-Saint Michel with sunset. If I was there earlier, maybe I could.. Next time!!
Arriving and circle around Mont Saint-Michel with nice colored sky and go back to hotel again.

Take a rest for a while and go to Mont Saint-Michel again to see night view.
On the way, I've noticed Mont Saint-Michel is reflecting on the river! It's beautiful. But at first go to Mont Saint-Michel to see inside of the wall at night. There weren't so mnay people on the street, even in the restaurant again. And, it would be nice to walk around inside of the wall at night. If I had more time. Next time again!!
Then on the way to go back to hotel, I tried to find the best place to see Mont Saint-Michel reflecting river. And I've found it!! It's awesome.. I maybe took 30min to find the place but worth to do.
Satisfyed and go back to hotel. But on the way, I was most excited. Thanks to not much light, I can see a lot of stars. Maybe best in my life ever. Maybe I can see more better in this travel.

Back to hotel around 11pm, start drink bottle of wine. And been to sleep.

Next day, woke up, at 10:15am. I asked hotel for wake up call around 5:30am, but maybe I couldn't aware because of wine.. Main reason I stayed here was to see sunset and sunrise. But I missed one.
Anyway, after check out, go to Mont Saint-Michel and see from the point I found yesterday, then walk around Mont Saint-Michel in every path I could find. And then, time to go back.

Bus left around 3:15pm. Good-bye Mont Saint-Michel.
Anyway, not 70% of Japanese. Maybe on
