14-18/March/2008 Well, next day, 14th passed just because of the problem of Round-the-World ticket. You can see more stories link below. 14th had a choices that depends on that. Going to Mali? Back to Casamance by ferry? Even thinking about giving up Round-the-World ticket. But after all, it didn't make clear how it gonna be and had to wait their answer by Monday.. I didn't expected.. Then, because of that I was really tired of Dakar so to relax on weekend moved to Kaolack which is away from Dakar little bit. There, stayed in Mission Katholic where Ji Yeon was stayed until day before. I was really frustrated. And, I couldn't think about any more so flipped the coin, gave up going to Ghana. Next day, 15th, still worked on the problem in the morning. If I could re-issue on 14th, I was thinking to get out of Senegal and going to Mali by bus. But it screwed up. And now, we were on the weekend so couple of days were wasted. And, if I cannot re-iisue I maybe have to give up going to other countries in Africa too. What the hell.. And at that time, I didn't know I could re-issue in Dakar so I was starting to think about giving up going to Mali to go back to Europe just to re-issue. So, flipped the coin again. Then it said not going to Mali. Go to join Ji Yeon again. Then, after weekend, Monday, 17th. My 26th birthday. Nobody to celebrate with and headed back to Dakar about the Round-the-World ticket. And, the re-issue that I thought would be done within 17th wasn't able to done. Then, spent the worst birthday ever. Well, there were some who mailed me and I was glad about that but even to them I told that it was the worst birthday ever. Well, even when I was in Japan, there were not so many celebrated about it though.. And, on that the worst birthday ever, even gave up to go to Mali which I was thinking down the line. Instead, decided to join with Ji Yeon again. If I could re-issue, I had a other options though.. And 18th, finally picked up re-issued Round-the-World ticket and went back to Kaolack. I will move tomorrow!! Finally, I'm free!!!!! I was really frustrated with this and gave up a lot of stuff.. Japan Blog Kingdom<=Just click this to support my blog ranking Japan Blog Kingdom, English Diary <= I joined this one as well 2008年3月14-3月18日 さて翌14日、世界一周航空券の問題で一日が過ぎ去る。 世界一周航空券の件は以下で 14日は、この問題がどうなるかによって選択肢が何個もあった。 マリに行くか、フェリーでカサマンスまで戻るか、世界一周航空券の再発券を諦めることも考えていた。 が、結局どうなるかが明瞭にならず、曖昧なまま月曜日にその答えが出る事に。。予想してなかった。。 しかし、その件が原因でダカールには愛想が尽きていたので、週末をゆっくり過ごすために、ダカールから少し離れたカオラックまで移動。前日までジヨンが泊まっていたミッションカソリックという宿に。相当イライラしてたからね。 そしてもう考える事ができなかったのでコイントスをして、ガーナ行きを諦める。 翌15日、午前中は引き続き前日の問題。 本来なら14日、世界一周航空券の再発券を済ませたら、セネガルから出国してマリのバマコまでバスで移動しようと考えてた。それが駄目になってしまい、さらに週末挟んじゃったから、数日が無駄になってしまった。 それに加えて、再発券ができなければ、他のアフリカの国に行く予定もを諦めなくてはいけない可能性まで出てきてしまった。なんということだ。。 そしてこの時には再発券がダカールで出来ることになるとは決まってなかったので、再発券の為にヨーロッパに早目に戻らなきゃ行けないならマリ行きも考えなくちゃと思い、ここでもコイントス。すると、マリ行きではなく、ジヨンに再度合流する方向に。 そして週明けて月曜、17日、26歳の誕生日。誰も祝ってくれる人もいなく、午後には再びダカールへと世界一周航空券の件で向かう。 そしてその日中に終わると思っていた世界一周航空券の再発券も結局終わらず、人生最低の誕生日を過ごす。何人かメールくれた人もいたので、それは嬉しかったけど、それでもそのメールくれた友達にも人生最低の誕生日だったよと伝えてるし。まあ、日本にいるときでも祝ってくれる人がそんなにいるわけじゃなかったけど。 そしてその最低の誕生日には、最後まで粘って考えていたマリ行きも断念。代わりにジヨンに再度合流することを決める。17日中に再発券が出来ていたら、他の選択肢があったんだけどね。。 そして翌18日、再発券された世界一周航空券を受け取り、カオラックまで戻る。 翌日は移動だ！ようやく解放された！いやー、本当にイライラさせられたし、色々諦めさせられたよ。。 |

Then, they talked about it a while on the phone, and after that what person in charge in Iberia told me was, "If we can contact with Iberia office in London, and if London says ok, you can pay here in Dakar and re-issue in other place." Pay here, but re-issue in other place? really? I doubt it.. So, I felt like that re-issue will be impossible.. And, even if I would pay here in Dakar but only to re-issue I maybe have to go back to Europe earlier than expected.. And, what worse is, unless I wait until Monday, they cannot contact to Iberia in London so nothing go forward by then.. And, they can confirm it only in the afternoon. At that time, Iberia in Dakar was already after 6pm and out of business hour. Mmmm.. Too complicated.. And, people in the airline doesn't know about the rule much so too much that they would know after my explanation. So, at this point, it has been confiremd that just to re-issue Round-the-World ticket I have to stay at least another couple of days in Senegal. And then, flipped coin, then I gave up my plan going to Ghana after Senegal. Mali and Burkinafaso are still in my plan. Anyway, I had nothing I can do then. And, I didn't wanted to stay in Dakar anymore so moved away from Dakar little bit and spent more relaxed time. Next day was Saturday. But JAL in London was working so talked with them and thought about what I can do if I cannot re-issue. Then, idea came up was, if I cannot re-issue in Dakar or pay in Dakar and re-issue in any other place, I can put the itinerary back to exactly same itinerary that I used had befor I made a change. So, it won't be no difference with the flight tickets that I had at that time so I don't need to re-issue my flight ticket. So, checked if it will be possible. But it was already impossible.. Which means, I need to re-issue my ticket whatever it costs. And, necessary to go back to Europe earlier than I planned to re-issue if re-issue in Dakar would be impossible.. And Monday afternoon, concated to JAL in London. Then, they told me I can pay in Iberia in Dakar, moreover, I can re-issue there! So, headed to Dakar asap and arrived at late afternoon. Then, to Iberia office and asked to re-issue. Then, I've been told. "It will take time to re-issue so could you come to pick it up tomorrow?" What? Again..? But I can at least re-issue so I gave up and decided to come to pick it up next day.. Well, it was my 26th birthday but it was the worst birthday ever!! And next day, been to Iberia and told them that came to pick up Round-the-World ticket. Then, there you go!! Finally, finally I got re-issued Round-the-World ticket!! Started to think about a change from February, actually starting to change from March 8th, with some problems finally finished on March 18th. Only to resolve problem takes 10days.. Wow.. It was raelly really complicated and too much work.. Japan Blog Kingdom, Round The World <=Just click this to support my blog ranking Japan Blog Kingdom, English Diary <= I joined this one as well そうして長い間話してもらい、対応が終わりイベリアの担当者から言われたのは、 ”月曜日にロンドンのイベリアのオフィスと連絡がとれて、それでロンドンがOKと言ったら、ここダカールで支払いしてもらって、他の場所で再発見する事になったよ” とのこと。 いや、ここでお金払って、再発券は他の場所で？ホントに？いやー、そんなことできないだろ。。 と、再発券は出来ない雰囲気が漂う。。仮にダカールで支払いを出来たとしたとしても、再発券のためだけにヨーロッパまで予定していたよりも早く帰らなきゃ行けなくなる可能性が高そう。。 そして、更に嫌なことに月曜日まで待たないとロンドンのイベリアのオフィスと連絡が取れないので、それまで何も前に進まない。それも確定が出来るのは午後になってから。。この時点ではダカールのイベリアで既に6時を回り、営業時間も終了していたしね。。 うーん。。複雑すぎる。。それに航空会社の人があまりルール知らないから、俺が説明して調べてようやく分かったりすることが多すぎるし。。 ということで、この時点で世界一周航空券の再発券をするためだけにセネガルにまた数日滞在しなくてはいけないことが確定。また、セネガル後に考えていたガーナをコイントスをして諦めることに。マリとブルキナファソはまだ検討。 まあとにかく、出来ることが何もなくなり、これ以上ダカールに居たくなかったので、ダカールからちょっと離れた街に移動し、少しボーっとして過ごす。 翌日は土曜日。だが、JALのロンドンは対応をしているので、再発券が出来なかった場合の対応策を考えてみる。 そして出てきた案は、ダカールでの再発券、もしくはダカールで支払いして、他の場所での再発券が出来ない場合は、最悪、変更を掛ける前まで持っていた予約に戻してみるという方法があるとのこと。そうすれば、今、手元に持っている航空券と変わらなくなるから、再発券の必要がなくなるとの事。そして調べてみると、それはすでに不可能になっていることが判明。。ということは、何が何でも再発券をしなければいけなくなった。そして、ダカールでの再発券が不可能な場合は予定よりも早くヨーロッパへ戻り、再発券をする必要が。。 さて月曜日の午後、ロンドンのJALと連絡をとると、ダカールのイベリアで支払いどころか再発券までを行うことになったって！！ すぐに、ダカールへと向かい、夕方に到着。イベリアのオフィスに直行し、再発券を頼むと、 ”再発券に時間が掛かるから、明日受け取りに来て” とのこと。 えぇー、また〜？ まあ、とにかく再発券は出来るとの事だから、諦め翌日に受け取りに来ることに。。ちなみにこの日は26歳の誕生日でしたが、人生最低の誕生日でしたね。。 そして翌日、恐る恐るイベリアのオフィスに行き、世界一周航空券の受け取りに来た事を伝えてみると、ようやくｘ２、再発券がされた世界一周航空券が！！ 2月から考え出し、3月8日から実際に変更を掛けだし、問題が発生し、終わったのは3月18日。問題解決だけで10日。 いやー、めんどくさかった。 |

そしてダカールからカサマンスへと24時間以上掛けて埃っぽい中を移動してみるも、確定したかと思った世界一周航空券の件が駄目になったとの話で、到着翌日にはダカールへのとんぼ返りが確定。 ルート、日付を確定させても48時間以内に発券をしないとその予約はキャンセルをされるらしく、一つのフライトは既に全く同じフライトの予約が不可能になっていた。そのため、また旅程の組み直しを余儀なくさせられる。。そんなこと一言も言われなかったんですけど。。 翌日、1日掛けてダカールへ戻り、到着翌日に問題解決のために、はるか遠くにあるガーナを除いて西アフリカで唯一のワンワールドのオフィスで、世界一周航空券の再発券が可能であるイベリアのオフィスへと出向いてみるも、イスラム会議と呼ばれる宗教関係の日らしく、ダカールのほぼ全ての店は閉まっており、当然のごとくイベリアのオフィスも閉まってました。 そこで思いついた。空港にはチェックインカウンターとかあるんだから、そこでもやってくれるだろ？それにいくらなんでも空港は閉まらないだろ。と、一路空港へ。 そしたらなんと空港にあるオフィスさえも閉まってるよ。。 そしたらちょっとあせってくる。だって翌日はすでに金曜日。翌日中に終わらなければ翌週まで持ち越し。。 さて、そんな不安を抱えながら翌金曜日、まずはJALとSkypeで話をし、ルート変更を掛ける。準備は万端。再発券をしにイベリアのオフィスに行ってみる。 そして世界一周航空券の再発券をお願いすると ”ここではこの航空券の再発券はできないよ” と言われる。 へっ？ いや、待って。ここで出来なければどこで出来るの？ダカールのどっか他の場所に他に再発券できる場所があるの？ すると、 ”いや、他にも再発券出来る場所はないよ” とのこと。。 いやいやいやいや。そんな筈ないでしょ。と、粘ってみると。 ”でも、ここではできないの。はい、次の人” と、次の人への対応を始めちゃった。 そこで呆然と立ち尽くしましたよ。なにせ、ここで出来なければヨーロッパに戻るかガーナまで行くかしないと他にオフィス無いし、それまでにまた予約キャンセルされちゃうしで、どうにもならなくなっちゃうからね。 ここに来て再発券さえすれば終わるから、すぐに解決できる問題だと思ってたのに。。どうしよ。。？ で、とにかく気を取り直しネットカフェへ戻り、ロンドンのJALに連絡して、事の次第を話してみると、出来ないはずがないとのこと。 そこでイベリアのオフィスと直接話してくれるとの事で、イベリアのオフィスに戻り事の次第を担当者に説明して、JALのロンドンの担当者と直接話してもらう。 そうして長い間話してもらい、対応が終わりイベリアの担当者から言われたのは、 From Dakar to Casamance, after more than 24 hours dusty ride, heard that my Round-the-World ticket booking has been canceled, which I thought finally done. So, day after my arrival, my rapid return to Dakar has been confirmed.. Even booking of route and date has been confirmed but if I don't re-issue my ticket within 48hrs, flights booking would be canceled. And, one of the flight was already impossible to rebook exactly same flight. So, I needed to make a change on my itinerary again.. Nobody told me about it.. So, next day, spent one day and back in Dakar. And next day, to solve the problem I went to the only Oneworld office in West Africa, except in Ghana which is far far away, Iberia where I can re-issue my Round-the-World ticket but the day was something for religious day which called Islamic conference so most of the shopes in Dakar were closed. And of course Iberia too.. Then, the idea came up. There's check-in counter in airport so they maybe do that there. And, it's airport. They don't close it, right? Then, headed to airport. But what I saw was office that was closed.. Then, I'm feeling bit rush because next day would be Friday. And, if it won't finish next day, it will be next week.. Well then, on Friday, with concern, at first talked to JAL on Skype then change itinerary. Ready to re-issue. Then, go to Iberia's office to re-issue. And, asked re-issue of Round-the-World ticket. Then, I've been told.. "We cannot re-issue this flight ticket here" What? No, no, no. Wait. So, if I cannot do here, where I can do? Is there any other place I can re-issue somewhere else in Dakar? Then, been told.. "No, there's no other place you can re-issue" No, no, no, no. It shouldn't be, right? Then, been told.. "but we cannot do it here. Next please.” and, started to talk with next customer.. I've stunned and stood for a while. Well, if I cannot do here, there's no other office except back in Europe or Ghana. And by then, my booking will be canceled again and would be more mess. I thought I only needed to re-issue my ticket and everything gonna supposed be alright.. But, what I gonna do? Well then, pulled myself together, back to Internet cafe and contacted to JAL in London and talked about it. Then, they told me that they should be able to do that. And then, they told me they will talk with Iberia office directly. So, back in Iberia office, talked about it with person in charge and asked to talk with person in charge in JAL in London directly. Then, they talked about it a while on the phone, and after that what person in charge in Iberia told me was, |

Febrary & March/2008 Those days, even from I was in Mauritania, I was really really really wondering if I should throw away the ticket and keep travelling around Africa so I can see more about Africa, however, that is true that I paid a lot on my RTW ticket. I took only 4 flights by then. That gonna be quite expensive if I don't use that anymore.. But I wanna see more about this part of the world!! But only 4 flights.. And of course I wanna see other part of the world too.. If I do throw away my RTW ticket, I can see more about this part of the world, however, there would be some route left that gonna be quite expensive. Like Inter-Continental-Filghts, to some specific places that is possible to include by using RTW ticket. So, idea came up then. If I would make a change on my RTW ticket again, I'd have to pay another 125US. But if I reroute my RTW ticket to earn maximum mileage, I would be able to go back to Central America by using mileage so it would be free!! Or, just 125US for reroute!! Anyway, I had to make a change on my RTW because my itinerary at that time was around 12 route which gonna earn less than 30,00miles. I will need at least 45,000miles to get a free flight to Central America to keep continue my journey after some break in Japan. For that reason, I had been looking into the possibility if I can earn mileage I gonna need. Then, it was possible. So, I decided to go back to Japan once, then go back to travel soon but start from Central America after some break there by using free flight by using a mileage that I would earn. So I had been working on it since I was in Mauritania. I spent a lot of time to see possible maximum mileage route. And, found the one that would earn more than 45,000 miles. And then, I spent many hours in cyber cafe in Dakar to talk to Japan Airlines by Skype if that route would be possible. And yes, that was possible route so I fixed it. And, it was possible so I fixed that. Then, I took a off from RTW ticket and Dakar to Casamance. Story continues... Japan Blog Kingdom, Round The World <=Just click this to support my blog ranking Japan Blog Kingdom, English Diary<= I joined this one as well 2008年2月＆3月 当時、まだモーリタニアにいた頃から、世界一周航空券を捨ててアフリカをもっと見るために、ここを旅し続けるべきかどうかヒジョ〜に迷っていた。だって、世界一周航空券には高い金払ったのは事実だからね。それまでにたった4フライトしか乗ってなかったから、このままこれ以上使わなきゃ、ちょっと高くつくしね。。でも、ここら辺もっと見たいしなぁ〜☆でも、4フライト。。もちろん他のところも見たいしなぁ。。 もし世界一周航空券を捨てたら確かにここら辺はもっと見れるけど、それじゃあ高いフライトが幾つか残るしなぁ。大陸間フライトとか、何個か特定の場所へのフライト。でも、世界一周航空券に組み込むこともできる。 そこでアイデアが。 もし、また世界一周航空券に変更を掛ければ125USドルを払わなくちゃいけない。 でも、もし世界一周航空券で稼げるMAXマイレージのルートに変更をしたら中米まではマイレージを使って無料で戻れるよ！それか125USドルの変更手数料だけ！ ともかく、世界一周航空券の旅程には変更が必要だ。当時の旅程は確か12ルートくらいで、30000マイル弱しかマイレージが稼げない。日本で一息ついた後に中米まで旅に戻るのに、マイレージを使って無料でフライトに乗るには最低45000マイルが必要だ。 ということで、そんなマイレージを稼ぐのは可能か調査してみたところ、可能だった。 なので、日本に一度帰国し一息ついた後にすぐに中米からの旅に今から稼ぐ予定のマイレージを特典航空券に換えて戻る予定に。 これはモーリタニアにいた頃からやっていた。結構な時間を掛けてMAXマイレージになるルートを探し、45000マイル以上稼げるルートを発見。 そして、今度はダカールのサイバーカフェで、スカイプを使ってJALとこのルートが可能なのか話をするためにまた時間を掛けた。そして、OK。そのルートは可能だったので、ルート、日付とも確定させた。 そして、世界一周航空券とダカールから離れカサマンスへと移動した。 続きは後ほど。。 |
