The reason why I study English - assignment -

More than four years passed since I started to study English. The purpose for studying English has been changed by time. The first time when I just took a look at an English text book was by a little interest of study abroad which I did not certainly consider. Now, I study English because I would like to pass the writing examination and complete my Associate degree in NY.
I was not interested in English and foreign countries. However, I just tried to study English for TOEFL, Test of English as a Foreign Language, because I had been suddenly eager to study abroad. That was really sudden and nobody around me including myself did not believe that it could be real. My purpose of study abroad was not learning English and American life or culture but design and art. I was wishing if I could study graphic design in an artistic city like New York. Thus, I opened a TOEFL text book with a little dream.
My attempt at TOEFL was much more difficult than I had expected. After I quit my job, I went to an English school in Osaka, focusing on the score which I needed to enter a university of design in TOEFL. It was hard for me who rarely toughed English after the junior high school. I had not even taken an English class in my high school. I did not remember English words, grammar, and everything. I concentrated upon the study of TOEFL for a year but I could not get the high enough score to apply the university. I gave it up and decided to go to a community college and major graphic design.
I entered a Community College in Fall, 2005 to learn about graphic design. The college requires English reading and writing and mathematics examinations for freshmen. When I entered the college, I took the examinations and failed the English reading and writing sections and passed the mathematics. I needed to take ESL classes for preparing the test while taking other required classes. After a while, I passed the reading exam. Although I have taken more than four times the writing exam, I could not pass it. So, I returned to my home country two years later partly because of my parents' persuasion.
I obtained a new job in my home town soon after I came back. My job was an assistant of an editor who makes instruction manuals for foreign countries. Luckily or unluckily, I was supposed to face to English again regardless of my will because sometimes I needed to make a contact with some workers in foreign countries. I bought a book of business English emailing and read it.
Now, I came back to NYC after a year of the working because I hated to remain my task. I so desire to finish my school maybe because I estimate my time and money used for my study abroad. If I stop now, it is nothing. I convinced my father and mother and then keep studying English to complete my goal.
