第６回：予約のポイント
○ 表現の要点：
アスペクト(aspect)「相」の使い分け
話者の気持ち・心象や立ち位置
・事象が完結しているか、未完結なのか。
・瞬間か、継続的か、断続的か、反履するか、
いずれかは終結するのか
などを述語動詞で示すことが可能。
事例：He ｂｅｇａｎ to talk. （起動相）
He continued to talk. （継続相）
He was talking. （進行相）
He stopped talking. （終止相）
実際には、現在進行形以外は事象は終わっている
「終止相」となる。
〜ホテルの予約〜
Hotel Staff ： Good afternoon.
Sunshine Hotel.
How may I help you ?
Customer ： Yes , please. （はい、お願いします。）
I'd like to book a single room for one night ,
please.
（一泊で一人部屋を予約したいんだけど。）
H.S. ： Thank you , sir.
Just one moment. （暫くお待ち下さい。）

発音・アクセントに注意

２．日付の言い方：
○アメリカ式 月/日/年
例： 表記法 June 12 , 2015
読み方 the 12 th が丁寧
○イギリス式 日/月/年
例： 表記法 12 June 2015
読み方 the 12 th of June
月名の省略でもアメリカとイギリスは異なる場合がある。
５〜７月は短いので省略はしない。 May June July
９月の省略は、 Sep. より Sept. が正式。
日数の言い方：複数に注意する。

３．おとなの会話表現の要点：
会話を楽しむ気持ちを伝えるには時と場合に応じた
丁寧さと敬語表現が必要。
助動詞の適切な使用選択で微妙なニュアンスを加える。
can / could / would / will / shall
may / might （もしかすると〜かもしれなかった）
must / should / have to / has to / had to
ought to （should より義務感あり）
dare to （あえて〜する）

１．場所を尋ねる表現

３．地名のつづり字の伝え方
都市名や国名、馴染みのある名前の頭文字を使って説明する

D for Denmark （デンマークのD）
E for England （英国のE）
L for London （ロンドンのL）
簡単で分かりやすい道案内とは・・・
１．自分が外国で道順を尋ねる場合を考えて分かりやすく。
２．相手が持参しているガイドブックやアプリを使って説明する。
３．観光案内所の場所を教えてあげる。
４．グーグルマップ、英文の地図、写真、ストリートビュー検索
などを活用する。
５．近道よりも分かりやすい直線コースを紹介する。
６．目的地や目印を日本語とローマ字で書いてあげる。

○ Small Talk とは？
天候・趣味・家族の話題など、当たり障りのない気楽な話題
一般的に、政治・宗教・信条は避けた方が良いでしょう。
また、ネットで瞬時に情報が拡散しないように
住所や連絡先・家族の動向などの個人情報には注意が必要。
