〜春始む一番太鼓の櫓かな〜

"Sagichyo" is a fire festival of the New Year held everywhere in the country, an event that took place on the 15th of New Year from the time of the Heian period.

"Katsuyama Sagichyo" has more than 300 years history since the entrance of Duke  Ogasawara in the Katsuyama clan during the Edo period.

The adults in red long mandibles appearing in their unique gestures with a light tempo accompanied by shamisen, whistle, and rhythm are characteristic only of "Katsuyama Sagicho", and people call this a fantastic odd festival .
