How ｔo Live on 24 Hours a Dayより

If my typical man wishes to live fully and completely he must, in his mind, arrange a day
with in a day. And this inner day, a Chinese box in a larger Chinese box, must begin 6 P.M.
and end at 10:00 A.M. It is a day of sixteen hours; and during all these sixteen hours he
has nothing whatever to do but cultivate his body and his soul and his fellow men. During
those sixteen hours he is free; he is not a wage-earner; he is not preoccupied by monetary
cares; he is just as good as a man with a private income. This must be his attitude. And his
attitude is all important. His success in life (much more important than the amount of
estate upon what his executers will have to pay estate duty) depends on it.

私が例に挙げているような普通の人は、充実した完全な一日を送りたいと思ったら、頭の中で、一日の中にもうひとつ別の一日を設けるようにしなければならない。
この｢内なる一日｣は、ひとまわり大きな箱に入っている小さな箱のようなもので、夕方六時に始まって翌朝の十時に終わるのだ。十六時間の一日というわけである。
そして、この十六時間はすべて、もっぱら自分の心と身心を成長させ、同胞を啓発することだけに使うのだ。
この十六時間の間はすべてのものから解放されている。給料を稼いでくる必要がない。金銭上の問題に気をとられることがない。働かずとも食べていける人と同じような、結構な身分なのだ。これこそ一日に対する心構えでなければならない。そして、心構えがなによりも大切なのだ。充実した人生(莫大な遺産を残すことよりもはるかに大事なことであるが)が送れるかどうかは、こうした心構え次第で決まる。

We have small amount of snow this year by now.

Snow is beautiful, but it is dangerous sometimes.

We had quite much snow in the area where I live last year.
Because of the heavy snow, my car got stuck in front of my apartment parking lot.

A kind neighbor helped me to move my car.
He cut and broke snow and ice under and around my car.
Afer that, I got in my car and started the engine to accelate.
I had called JAF beforehand, but I dind't need their help thanks to the neighbor and his wife.

This year's snow is not so heavy as last year.
It began to snow this morining.
Fortunetaly, snow around here almost disappeared yesterday and the day before yesterday.
It is fortunete that we have quite little snow on the road.

I "touch" Engkish every day.

These days, I try "touching" English every day.
Listnenig to BBC radio 5 on the website is my favorite routine.
It is difficult to understand the content perfectly, but I enjoy it.
I don't intend to listen to it with my 100% concentration, but I enjoy the English "sound."
I soak myself in it to feel and think in English atomsphere.

Shuukan ST is another routine I like in my English brushing up activity.
There are many essays and columns I like to read.
The level of English is not very tough for me.
That's why I can continue to read it.

Having proved by personal experiment the truth of the first of the two great principles which
concerns the human machine - namely that the brain is a servant, not a master, and can be
controlled - we may come to the second.

Second great principle, therefore: "In case of friction, the machine is always at fault."

In certain cases we do make use of our machine (as well as their sad condition of neglect
will allow), but in other cases we behave in extraordinarily irrational manner. Thus if we
sally out and get caught in a heavy shower we do not, unless very far gone in foolishness,
sit down and curse the weather. We put up our umbrella, if we have one, and if not we hurry
home.

試みに訳してみよう。
